Glass and trim in the rubber , then install as one unit .

 

Many thanks Zephyr. 9 times I have installed the glass (both) in the rubber and after the SS trim. I'll try doing the opposite, let's see what happens .

Is the gasket upside down? The curves are different on the top and bottom of the glass.

you say that I have mistaken the direction of the gasket?
Yet I have already done this attempt,

It looks to me that the glass is slightly too large. Can you get a class fitter to come aroung and have a look?

 

Hi PaulD, unfortunately, here there are no class fitter.

I also thought that the glasses were too big but I measured his old glasses and they are the same size.
Before it was installed with a gasket without S S trim.

Today I thought to cut the glass, but I do not know how to cut.

Frank there should be a few glass shops in Rome that can use a belt sander to trim the glass to fit. If it is laminated glass that is.

 

If rubber around the glass is NEW, than that's why it's like that around the corners, the rubber don't have "memory" to go around corners OR rubber is more thicker than original in between glass and body and it seems like glass is bigger (and it's not) if the window is where it suppose to be (in line with metal edge for rubber all around) only way to resolve Your problem is to get the window out, put the rubber on it, warm up the rubber (don't over do it) and start to show where it suppose to be (be careful, you can leave finger inprints) use something that don't leave indentations and masking tape can help You keeping the rubber where You want it to be... Hope this helps

 

Hi Mr48, yes, I can find a shop with the belt sender the glasses but I do not know where to cut ... perhaps in the middle? (as the pics below)
I smooth 2 mm for each glass?
In fact, the seal at the center not supported well on the central crossbar.....

orula, I wish I had some usefull information to impart on your glass Delma....I unfortunately do not...mine also had the same problem when I removed the glass and hopefully my glass guy can sort it out....that said you may want to pm Glassguy here on the HAMB he may be able to give you some more tips.....looking good friend....keep it up.

Did we get the glass to fit yet? I think it's a poorly made gasket, which, unfortunately, most are. Sorry about this man. I'd love to know how you resolve this.

this week I really have to install the windshield because many parts are coming and want to continue my project.
I hope they cut the glass from 2 mm to be the final solution.

Yeah, just so you know, I've been following this thread (as a lot of people are). I'd love to know if that cut solves your problem.
