    Carl, I've got as 3x2 base, that bolts right on the 4-71, if you want to keep that look when you go with the huffer.

    I'll loan it to you- be a few years until I can use it!

    yep Virg we are pulggin away, almost got the other block stripped, now just have to get to work and make it happen, years ago I would have got pissed and threw something through the garage door but age has its benefits and now I just look it as another day another dollar another lesson to not listen to those who say its ok, course I was trying my damnest to save another piece of history, but hell we'll just make our own .................

    thats what I keep spare parts for

    Is there a possibility the water could have got there from the head gasket? Had some old aluminum heads once that didn't seal well around the water passages.

  8. Well nother stage to go through.......will blockroc the rest of block and heads and run alky on this block that will give me time to prep the other block correctly and in the mean time have been helping a buddy on his 21 stud..................

  11. Now that really sucks - but you have a good positive attitude, just what it takes to fix it!

    Can't remember, was the block sleeved? Were you into water where the sleeve was used? If so, that could easily be it.

  13. Yea Tim the crank was the cats ass, exactly perfect grind!!!! you do great work man!!!!!

    Dale yea I was into the water jacket big time but thought I could seal it so you know .............. besides I always wanted to try alky anyway.........

    anyone have some old alky carbs????????

    The 21 studder has some bling on it will show pics ..........later.........
