Found two mint Canadian pennies dated 1946 in the metal I cut out of my 1946 Austin sedan when I was tearing it apart. Not sure where they were located under the hood, but I'm guessing since they match the year of the car they had been there since it was newly imported to Canada. The car was lefthand drive like all N. American cars, and had a Washington tittle, but I didn't know any more history until the two pennies fell out while removing the front sheetmetal.
The two pennies are now permanently mounted on the dash of my completed car.

We just pulled a small hand made doll with a couple Latin bible passages, a cross and a rabbits foot sewn inside it from a 41 Plymouth. The owners refer to the car as Christine and swear it is cursed because nothing ever works right in it. After dissambly I know why nothing worked right. Everything has been repaired the most half ass way possible lol!

Taking the drivers quarter window wood out of my '29 coupe and found a book of matches with one match left. There from Jerry's Snack Bar, Minneapolis, Kansas. He clames to have cold beer, hot lunches, poker and dominoes. If you want a carry-out give him a ring at EX2-9996!!

I thought subject was "meat stuff found in old cars" and was curious as to why there were so many posts.

In my '56 Caddy, I found a 1956 quarter under the soundproofing in the floor. Also found a set of heads in the trunk. I have a rule now, if there's a set of heads in the trunk, assume the engine is trash.

When I bought my '56 Olds, the guy couldn't get the trunk open. When I got it home and popped the trunk I found a brand new cordless drill kit, a tool box full of tools, a vintage Coke Bottle, jumper cables, a sawed off broomstick (just the right height for a hood prop) and most telling, a Gallon jug of power steering fluid and the proper size ratchet wrench for pulling the lid off the PS reservoir.

    This is not all from the same car... it would be a HELL of a coincidence if it was, but here's my list of some cool schwag I've found;
WWII military issue aviation map light
    Stack of US Silver Certificates
OLD aluminum police siren (still worked!)
Brass Pyrene fire extinguisher, full, still has lock-wire and mounting bracket
Loose, cut, 3 karat diamond (turned out to be CZ, dammit...)
Lots of vintage porn (from the time when we were still more closely related to the wookie, apparently...)
    A 50s Kwik-Way hand-held valve seat grinder
    Machinery nameplates (Davis and Furber)
TONS of NOS parts still bagged and boxed (apparently just never got installed)
    Flare guns and flares
    Tools of all sorts

Well, that's most of it. There's probably plenty more, I'm sure, but that's the most memorable stuff. I'll repost if I remember anything else.

Under the piles of rat nests and trash in my '50 pickup I found a brand new wiring harness with the cloth loom and a factory manual wrapped in a Safeway bag. Must have been about 30 years old from when the truck was apparently parked with an engine problem and somehow the critters didn't touch them.

Blood . Lots of blood. I bought a 1937 Buick Roadmaster that had been used in a robbery in the 1940's. The guys in the car were shot to death by the police and the car ended up in an impound lot in Angelton Tx back then. A guy bought the car because he thought it was neat. He parked it and let it rot on his ranch. I bought it at an auction and then the auction people handed me all of the crime paperwork and newspaper clippings that the old man had saved. I got home took out the interior and sure enough there was practically fossilized blood soaked into and under the seats. I found a lot of .38 and .45 caliber bullets stuck in everything. I removed the grille and a few other parts and disposed of the car asap.

I bought a rotten 50 ford that hadn't been registered since 1967 and found a bank envelope with 4 50 dollar bills, a section of a newspaper with the horse racing numbers, and several matchbooks from a motel. Classy fella I take it...

  25. Ya'll, I could hardly believe this. I bought my XKS IRS rear end suspension from a guy in Florida. He shipped it very nicely fully wrapped in shrink wrap on a fabbed skid. I had the shipping company put it in the back of my Escalade. When I asked a neighbor guy to help me get it out of the back, I cut the wrap off of it, and we started to pull it out (with the crane on my photobucket website - but in it's normal configuration.

Well, the neighbor guy says "what the hell is this", as he pulled out a very nice black beaded ladies small purse from inside the frame of the rear end...we unzipped it and guess what ! A DANG NICE dildo, electric powered ! AND IT WOULD RUN! HAHAHAHAH.

Of course, he accused me or "somebody who had been in my truck" of having tossed it back there..... nope.

    CRAAAZY!

I used to work for one of those 4th rate car dealers. You know the kind, the ones with maybe 15 cars crammed in a small lot. I always went through cars looking for stuff. I found mostly coinage. A 64 LeSabre came in and I bought the car for myself. I open the trunk and in the trunk is a Lionel train set from the early 60s. The weird thing is, the train set was mine! It was in a formerly owned car that got stolen from a year earlier.

20 or so years ago, I was judging a local car show and the owner was making his pitch to me. He went into great detail about the "custom amplifiers" in his system. I looked in and saw amps that had been stolen from one of my cars about 3 months before-- I had had the heat sinks machined and anodized for me by a buddy who was senior VP of a very well known US amplifier manufacturer... there were no other amps like these in the world (unless somebody had literally copied mine). I paused from my judging activities, strolled over to the police officers we had hired for security detail that day, let them know about the stolen goods, and gave them the case number and assigned detective info (I was carrying the guy's card in my wallet). Before the end of the show, guy was arrested and car was impounded. According to a follow-up from the detective, they found a car-sized storage building full of stolen car stuff... that the guy had rented in his own name... oops. It took another 6 months to get my stuff back.
