I love Silverton. I've never gone to the car show at the Oregon Gardens, have you? I'm going to try and make it this year.

Yes, are you refering to the "Roses and Roadsters"? We also have another one downtown at the city park on the First Saturday of August every year. To add to that....starting in May we have a cruise every first Friday of the month until October downtown to add to the city's festiv "First Fridays" event. A couple of downtown blocks are completly shut off to traffic and reserved for Hot Rods only....about 60 or so cars each time.

I went through my junior year in High School in Forest Grove. It used to be 27 miles to Portland I guess they must have straightened the highway out since then.

Last time I was there Scotty's drive In was still open, old scotty was gone though. they had one of my old hub caps hung on the wall.

Do they still have 3/10s marked off down the road past the old cemetery behind the old high school?

Born and raised in The Dalles, graduated from Redmond high, made my millions in Portland and went broke in Medford. Ok, I didn't make millions but I did go broke in Medford. Doing ok in Omaha

 

Well I'll be just across the river in June if anyone wants to meet up for a cocktail and a chat or maybe a bowl of oyster stew down at the old Oyster House.

Oh cross the bridge at the bottom of the hill then find your way about another 1/8 mile if I recall out on the straight stretch.

 

Displaced Oregonian. 32 years in Hillsboro with Hillsboro Fire Department, was long time member of Multnomah Hot Rod Council. Was founding member and President of Columbia River Camaro Club. Son still lives in St, Helens driving 1963 409 bubble top.

 

I have cousins in Tumalo. They had a sweet 65’ Mustang one time.
