Search for thread originally posted in 2009 by Moparron. "pics of my friends 56 ElCamino". It was still there the last time I checked.

Better be careful the self-appointed hamb police might be upset!! Will building a body from scratch look traditional enough for this site? should my steel wheels be painted a special shade of red? If I can't find a 50's motor, should I push it? - This really is a truck, just haven't made the bed yet. Back in the day they made everything theirself. Noone had money! model A's and dueses were the most popular. Anything else was your mothers car. So you guys who think you build cars by buffing the hood, changing the plug wires and having the shop down the street do everything else need to get over yourselfs! Ok - I'm better now.

Man, it's amazing how folks who just don't "get it", will continue to drag shit out once they have been called out. If you wear your vagina on your sleeve, you're bound to get sand in it.

Here are a few I like(sorry if they have already been posted).

I've been through all 144 pages so far and this is a really wonderful thread. I'm posting pictures of my 40 despite some of the drama over what a traditional hot rod is. My 40 is on an 86 Ranger frame with a Chevy 4.3, 700 R4 and a Ford rear. The body is a combination of original, reproduction steel and 'glass parts. I've been working on it for 14 years and like everyone elses truck, it represents what I want my hot rod to be. Thanks for looking!

    Matt,
That fire truck is cool. I bet it would look good sitting next to my camper at a car show. Now that would be something, two Studebaker survivors sitting pretty. Hope you get it as I know you'll take good care of it.
