I was driving in downtown Duluth, and I ended up behind this car. I really like the way it looked from the back, but I don't know what car it is. Could someone help me out here? I know next to nothing about anything from that particular part of the big three.

    Perfect demo car material!

  5. Looks like a 66 or 67 Chrysler New Yorker or Newport. I drove a 66 Newport thousands of miles, good car for the highway for sure. Car was a serious tank, 17 feet long bumper to bumper if I'm remembering correctly. Got rear ended by a Ford Pinto and the Pinto was all smashed up in the front. The Newport barely had a dent in the trunk lid and the bumper that got hit looked perfect other than a little dirt had gotten knocked off of it. I sorta felt bad for the guy in the Pinto since his car was screwed.

  6. Am I missing something? Original poster takes a picture of a car that says CHRYSLER in big letters and then asks us what the car is....duh.

Probably a new yorker, don't think they made nweports in that year, but im sure a mopar guy will chime in. I dig the AAA decal on the bumper, I feel it gives it that "old guy car character"

For 16 years, I have driven the 66 Newport that my parents had for 25 years

mcnally351 hey man i resent that aaa remark about it being old mans car!! ive had aaa for yrs and yrs.after paying a tow truck to drag one of my cars from memhis to dyersburg tn. back in the late 70s around $150.a distance of about85 miles. that was a chunk of change back then.i bought that aaa stuff the next paycheck!! and ive used the hell out of it since. well worth the money after just one use. im just kidding, i dont resent it, but it is worth the money at any age.lol

I wouldnt put AAA sticker on anything. 25 years with em and have come out on top every year. If you have old cars, or a daughter with a cool falcon, its a good idea.
I'm going with 66 Newportish. New Yorker had a name plate on the right trunk lid. I followed one into work this morning.
DERBY,,,,,,,,OH PLEASE. You use station wagons or Imperials for that.

It's a '64-1/2 Mustang. My brother had one just like it but it was red and a 4-dr.

Judging by the distance of the occupants tells me it has a center console i'm calling it a 300C

  16. 300 has different tail lights...

    Newport...

Distance between occupants? That car is about 12' wide.

Whatever it is it needs a taillight bulb.

  18. Just for good measure, the New Yorker has different taillights too...

Chrysler? 66? New Yorker? Sure looks strange, LOL!

The threadmaster should've passed it up (to read the side trim), or got up next to it and asked? Guess the size of the behemoth must have scared him!

    300B was a '56
    300C was a '57. 300D a '58 and so on for a few more years.

  22. sure its not an MG? lol well I would assume he can read, seeing as he typed something on the internet, something tells me he wanted to know what kind of Chrysler it was lol.

if it went like my '63 300 it would be a little tough to catch.... that heavy bitch would haul ass. took friends for rides and showed them what made a 383 and torsion bar suspension famous.... they called it the "great white whale"..... i miss that car.

Well, judging by the distance between the crooked rear view mirror and the dash I would say that it's a Newport. But it could also be a 64-1/2 Mustang too! LMAO!
