I went to New Jersey last weekend to deliver a new chassis, and had a '36 Chevy Master coupe follow me home. I bought it from a guy that knew my brother from work. It has been in his family since 1958.

In '58 his grandfather bought it from the 93 year old lady that bought it new. It was passed down to his father , and then him. He got it in 1972, drove it into the garage and it hasn't been on the road since. He kept it in the gargae until 5 years ago when he moved it outside to make room for his wife's car.

The first few pictures are of where it has rested for 5 years. It took all my trailer winch had to pull it out of the sand. I really didn't need another project, but how could I pass it up?

Nice score, but I got to ask.....how bad is the A-pillar wood?

I hate it when they do that to me!!!! It looks like a great candidate for the inline late model chev. 5 cylinder.

It should be a cool ride!!!!!!

Great find! Part of me would be tempted to get it running & cruise around just like it is... but that probably wouldn't last long. ;)

Nice find! Body doesn't look too bad either.

  12. It probably is. Chevy never had a flat head... Flame on.

Thanks for the comments. As for the A pillar wood. I'm not sure, I have not had a chance to pull the interior back. I think it is fine. The bottom hinges are a little loose on the door side not the jamb. I may play with it a little to get it running, but if I keep it I will build a new chassis and change the drive train. I don't think I will do much with the body. I'll just fix a few things so they don't flap in the wind.

1929 was the first year for Chevy OHV six. I was suprised by that as well when I bought the 29 in my avatar.

An inline would be cool, but I have a 348 sitting in the corner waiting for the right car. And it has already been rebuilt. I may use that.

Nice score. A 348 would make a great motor for that. Hope you do a build thread.

You got very very lucky and now another project starts to hit the drawing board.

It was right around '36 or so that chevy did away with the wood i think. Either way, that thing looks solid.
I love the front shot, it has presence for sure.
