my good friend jeff's [safari tow] deisel model A is featured in and on the cover of HOT ROD for the may issue. i did the lettering and striping on it. today he gave me this plaque. i know some of yall aint crazy about it, but it made a 6000 mile trip with no problems.i'm proud of ya jeff and thanks for the plaque!
No I don't love the truck, but the striping and lettering I do love. Your work product made the cover of Hot Rod magizine, and that my friend is high praise indeed. Good job Ed.
I have the issue too. Very cool truck! I especially like the story that went along with it that he took his 10 year old son out of school to go Bonneville with him. All with his teachers approval. Thought that was pretty cool!
I don't think it's about wether someone is crazy about it or not. It just isn't really a traditional hot rod and hence off topic. Nice work though, just would be more at home on dogfight than here. it wouldn't take much to make it more acceptable here, though it's obvious by the stuff sticking up that it's not his intention at all.
It's also the reason the truck was featured....because it looks like it was built to piss off some people
Congratulations to you and your bud. Got my issue late last week and his car is the first feature I flipped to. It may not be traditional, but I'd drive the shit out of it!
Traditional or not it's a nice ride with quality work having been done. Congrats Jeff! It's nice to see a local car getting some exposure. One of my favorites around here.
Read the article, great story. Love the truck and the paint...Nice to have friends that appreciate your work with a plaque like that, not everybody has that (that explains my signature) nice job
I am not much into diesel but this project evidently was done right and has so far proven its worth to the owner. Overall appearance looks good to me and thanks for posting the coverage.
Congrats on making it in to Hot Rod Magazine, and with a cover thats real cool. It's cool that he gave you his "wall plaque," that is the one thing I could never give up is my Hot Rod Magazine wall plaque, it means a lot to me.
this truck was one of the many items we talked about today, my buddy and I know where a 50's Stewert truck cab is that would also make one hell of a cruiser and when we saw the article that was the main topic of conversation, like when do we start!!
Thanks everyone and Ed, My son is still talking about the trip, It was a great. Good father and Son time. Truck still runs great, most dependable ride I have. I know its not everyone's cup of tea. But thanks for the kind words. Jeff
Saw the article in this months and can say very cool to take the boy, you do know you have tainted him forever now by going to Bonneville? You will not be able to go without him now! Nice truck and congrats my friend.
