  2. Damn, I didn't realize it was an opinion poll.
Good for your Dad to do a makeover of what he envisioned..he must have been real motivated to get it done so quickly.

He did a great job, especially considering the two week build time! Screw anyone who doesn't like it! There are tons of '57 Chev's that look similar to what he had before. He made it what he likes, and that's all that really matters. If he's happy, then it doesn't matter what anyone else would have done.

I would lose the cheapo adjustable fuel pressure regulator and all of the rubber fuel line in the engine compartment area, it's just an accident waiting to happen.

Something like this would be better, it has 2 outputs so you can mount the pressure gauge right on the regulator. I have one I used last year I would sell if your interested. Also a decent section of -8 socketless hose and fittings..

Gasser?!.....have you guys seen the price of gas lately??! I would chop the top off and put up a mast and sail and go REALLY old school. You laugh now but I will be laughing at you at the pump!............sigh.

It's a cool car man. Your Dad did good.

Other than a few engine compartment things the car looks awesome!! Its funny about some peoples views cause i often look at 57's like the before picture and think what a waste and then see ones like your dads and it gets you fired up!

I use that same pressure regulator on everything I have. They're very nice, and have great adjustability. Doesn't suddenly change presure as you turn the screw in.
I prefer bending up lines myself, rather than AN lines, hoses, or any of that stuff. Bending and flaring the lines really gives the engine a nice finished look.

  20. Personally if I had a 57 I would build a clone of the Project X version Hollywood Knights. That being said I like it way better now than before, two weeks made a hell of a difference in that car.

i told dad to put his 348 out of his bucket in there.thanks for all the replies,he is still in the process of changing some things, mom said he needed some chrome stuff on the front suspension.
And yes he's really liking what he did,it will be all over TUCSON for sure!

don't wanna sound like another critic, but the only thing i would do is change the front wheels to something more period correct. skinny slots, skinny cragars or torq thrusts. those bolt on fake spindal mounts really bug the crap outta me. GREAT JOB beside that.

I dig it...I think it would look bad ass with no hood! But then again I can't afford a 57 so what does my opinion matter!
