They stole a central heating and cooling unit here. My vote is let the dog sharpen his teeth on them!

Buying scrap material has become a highly regulated business here in Texas. You are required to take a pic of the person selling the materials, a pic of the materials they've sold you, a copy of thier ID, as well as: color, year, make & model & plate number of the vehicle they come to the yard in.

Bottom line is, its not that easy to get away with selling stolen scrap anymore. If you are ripped off, get a report done & start going to the yeards asking about anybody bringing in stuff that fits your description. If they won't help you or act nervous/suspicious, I'd call the cops out. Most scrap yard owners don't want stolen material- hurts thier biz & gets them in trouble w/ the state.

  5. Over here it,s copper rods from alongside the railway lines and lifting up brass statues with a mini-crane and then ofcourse cutting the statues into small pieces. The scrapyard buyers could,nt care less.

Here's my grounds keeper. 2400 psi scissor bite. I'd rather hear a trespasser scream than the sound of my 30/30.

I work at a auto parts salvage yard here in Georgia. We sold our scrap batteries today for 12.50 each and alum wheels for 17.00 each. So some dope head can make an easy 70 bucks off of one car. We store all our stuff indoors to prevent theft. They caught a guy a couple of weeks back stealing 55 gallon drums we had stored outside . Dumbass was using his grandfathers pickup. Yes he is still in jail.

Saw a news story about some brainiac that was stealing copper from a power substation and decided to take a piss on a transformer. His partner was killed, and the pisser's organ was about burnt off. Served his ass right!

My uncle was building a house at the end of a long road, and had to go to town for more materials.

Was gone for maybe 2 hours, came back to find his wood stove gone.

There was a FIRE in it when he left !

I do telecom for a living. I just took 150.5 lbs of CAT5E and CAT6 scrap and got $135.00. About the same as I've gotten for the last 5-8 years.

  16. I have dogs and signs one which says dogs bite. If you are in my driveway beyond the gate you have violated my space. The last guy had three blue heelers explain it to him, they did a good job he has not come back.

There is sometimes justice, however. A guy in my area was missing for a week, they found his body laying at the bottom of a telphone pole, apparently electrocuted trying to steal wire near a manufacturing plant that had been closed for several years.

I'm an electrical contractor,6 years ago scrap number one copper,as in clean stripped wire was about $1.50 a pound. Right now it's about three bucks a pound and the price has gone up and down some but been high for about 3 years. If you're getting 90 cents a pound for your comm wire it's more insulation than wire or they are fucking you.:D
Check out scrap prices, this is a week behine and prices so vary depending on location...........http://www.scrapmonster.com/scrap-prices/scrap-metals/-2-Copper-scraps/19

Live in girl friend had a bad ass hard biting Pit. A guy kicked at him. The dog grabbed his leg his leg and shook him down and broke the guys hip. Ambulance took him away for many stiches. The guy tried to sue but she didn't own anything and was unemployed. The guy didn't want to fork out lawyer money with the prospect of getting no blood from a turnip.

That county has since outlawed Pits and has also outlawed guard dogs. All the guard dog service went out of business.

I love Pits. I owned and bred top notch Pits for years. I no longer do because of liability and insurance issues.

If you own Pits, burn their papers and never admit to anyone they are pits. Genetic tests will just come up dog. Juries don't like them but trial lawyers love 'em. A crackhead could easily end up with a judgement against your house!

I visited the socialist city of Vladavostok a few years ago. many manhole covers were missing, as well as sections of railroad track as the city trolley was no longer in operation. Welcome to socialism....

  28. Just stop in by Larry Werth and he will gladly give you a tour anytime. His phone number is on the back gate and he lives across the street. Make sure you give him notice. Slip him ten bux or something and I'm sure he will even open up some of the buildings for you.
