I sure like the front motor mount. I need one like that, my front cross member has be cut to clear sbc pulley's. I pulled the sbc out and putting the banger back in, my frame is also boxed and i was trying to see what Moe did for his rear mounts. Great tread........

Camm, Thanks for the comments. Moe has built this car from a handfull of stock parts and lots of ones that he found at swap meets. Hw built all the crossmembers and the neat parts that make up this Modified. He just finished building the header/muffler insert. Hoped it would make the L.A Rodster show but it won't be. Moe is slow but thorugh.

I love this!! One day I'm going to build an one seater like this or Kirk's Legion Special. What I like about this is this is built using mostly 20's parts.. Not too common around here. In fact, I think the closest thing to a hot rod like this around here is in the museum.

Argh. Keep up the good work.

Guys, Car is complete. Upholstery is done and Moe is having a striper lay some lines. I intend to visit Moe in the next week or so. Hope to do an update as soon as I get home. Stay Tuned !

What a fun ride! Love it! My coupe has a banger (soon to be 8BA), but I will be keeping it......maybe for the next project? ....this gives me plenty of ideas!

Saw this car @ Bob's in Toluca Lake a few weeks ago. If you think it's good on film you should see it in person. Talked to Moe a little bit and he hinted that the rear brake only set up was a little dicey in traffic and there might be a period appropriate front end with brakes on it if he drives it more.
The thing really is tiny and is turned out like a jewel. And Moe is a really great guy to talk to and justifiably proud of his creation.

Thanks for the pix 41 Dave! I hope you can get a vid up of this thing. It sure is cool. You can really tell it was put together by a guy that knows what's going on. Beautiful.

Very cool. Glad to see the final pics.

  28. Nice job. I can see a magazine feature in your future. Nice details. I can appreciate all the hard work on the handmade parts. I like the front wheels and stance.

In the attached photo from the Throttler's picnic, it looks like he was running a fairbanks morse magneto... if that's the case, what was involved in adapting it to the banger? Why did he end up going back to a distributor? Amazing car, attention to every detail.

    thanks,
    ken

That is a Wico mag. the main reason people don't like to run these mags on the street is that they don't have any form of automatic timing advance mechanism.
