Folks Of Interest What is your favorite RPU...

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by ratamahata, Mar 15, 2012.

  1. One of my views on the RPU I've seen so far is that most are built almost touching the floor, it is difficult to see a highboy without fenders, I'll put below a picture of my favorite RPU made by Keith Tardel (Rex rods and chassis)

There's and RPU thread floating around here somewhere. It has a ton of favorites. Dean Lowe's pops up a few times because it's one of the coolest...

Marks, I saw him build it three times in about a 6 month time to make it perfect.

I don't know if I have a favorite, but the OP reminded me of this.

Mine is a 1932 Ford full fendered. So few made but Brookville has cured that problem. Can't wait until I can order my body, bed and fenders.

  13. 32 RPU's are the last model developed by the Ford motor company? There's no 33 or 34 RPU?

they did make a 33 and 34 roadster pickup, just not many of them built. Dodgerodders RPU has to be my favorite to date.

  15. tough call but i'm torn between Nostalgia59's surf kart and NealinCA's 32.

But what you pictured and a Brookville are two completely different creatures. The one shown is a reproduction of an actual 32 Ford RPU (Walden made I believe)...and the Brookville version is an extended cab, passenger car variation...with a shortened Model A bed.
