Interesting 32 3 window. Period correct for 50 plus yrs.

I asked my friend Joe for a picture of his coupe for the "50's period correct" thread. What I got was a series of pictures that puts this car in an entirely different light to me. One owner High school driver,Hot rod, Gasser, Street Rod , Insurance total back on the road for another 60+ K cross country miles .Stock Olds, Blown Olds, 2 Y block Lincolns, Hemi, Caddy, 348 Chev, Small block.," Survivor" car ? Yeah, I think so.

That my friend is a genuine "Old School" rod.

Hot Rods 50 years ago were often in a constant state of flux, there was always an improvment to be made to them.

Love the pics, it is great to watch one morph from the beginning to the current state. A never ending process.

Ask Joe what kind of 4x2 intake he had on the y-block, all i know of ever being made was a Horne, or a u-fab and it doesnt look like a u-fab in the pic.

The picture with the Mullins trailer is pretty current.

 

Yes, the turret top came out of NH. The rest was repaired. No injuries in the off freeway roll over.

 

They were cast in high school foundry class. Beats the hell out of computer science 101! Gotta love the 50's.

 

Word on that. If i had stuff like that in school i woulda never drop out of it.

that is the difference of someone who lives it and breathes , vs someone who thinks they can buy into the hobby. True hot rodder day in and day out. Cool stuff.

 

I remember the car from back in Chicago when I was in Street Rods Limited car club. The orange car next to it in the photo was Dan Walsh,s 32. It later burned to the ground in Laguna Beach, Ca. but has since been rebuilt and is on the road also.
