No prob, first make an intro, we want to know who you are, and like was stated before this is a site for traditional hot rods from 1964 and older, but we have made exceptions from time to time for cars that are just slightly over the scale, but you need better photos of your Opel, bigger and with the hood and door closed for best effect...

Dang, sorry guys i was jumping around on this thread so much I didnt even catch on to the pre '65 quota. But I am a high school senior who is taking all the mechanics classes I am offered. I stumbled across this car from one of my Auto-Mech class buddies and have loved it ever since. I was just wanting to see what this thing could look like with some of my personal touches, I saw way too many restorations or complete un-opel funny cars and decided to go along a more familiar rat rod scheme. I havent seen it be done before but i want a racy rat rod look, (hense the ideas). Although, I didnt mean to piss anyone off on this thread, I completely understand if you dont want to mess with this project. Once again, my regards.

(racey), racy however the hell ya spell it. but NOT ricey!!! none of that tuner shit on the german sports car. just old school rat rod meets oldschool race car...

can someone lower it to where it sits even, put wide whitewalls on it and some caddy hub caps or something, and put some fender skirts on it?

Don't shoot, this is for color reference ONLY !!!! I had such a hard time explaining the orange color, this is the best photo reference I could find




This orange ^^^^ On this car V V V V Two toned with an ivory, a charcoal, and a black roof and deck lid and upper quarter panel. Sorry to ask again, but this is such an odd orange, I really would like to visualize it before actually painting it.

I´d maybe add some chrome back to it too - the side chrome mouldings maybe. Looks like it´ll be a really nice early Kustom.

East Germany's Trabant - the car that made the Yugo look good.

Just say Grabber Orange because that is what that is.

 

I took a shot at it.

 

The color is bright caramel....not grabber orange...So, if I said bright caramel, without an example, would anybody think of this color in their head ???

I agree that a photo of the color you want is very helpful. Maybe black AND white? Go wild!

Love it on the chevy though, Black or white is a tough choice.. I like the zebra.

Just wanna see what I should do with this thing.

 

Am thinking of doing something like the following on my '39 Chev chopped 4 dr. sedan.....a candy apple red "bottom" (below the belt-line), a purple "top" (above the belt-line), including the hood top, with some yellow/gold flames on the front of the fenders and hood sides.

Can anyone photoshop anything similiar to that?

 

Would anyone be interested in chopping my tudor sedan? Take it down 'til it looks right.

 

Astros are kind of a no brainer, but they do look good I think.

 

Just a little, is just enough IMHO.
