So after a lot of planning and making schedules work we finally got a chance to paint my T-Birds roof. My friends Alan (Kustombuick on here) and his boss Jon at Byers Customs hooked me up big time. This is not meant to be a how to but with so many steps I thought I'd share what it took. So here's the pictures.

Gold Base with Gold Flake Cleared sanded and ready
    BaseGold2-th.jpg
    Lay out the patterns
    IMG_1641-th.jpg
Tape out the "endless lines" in the first panels
    IMG_1645-th.jpg
    Chase them all with burgandy
    IMG_1647-th.jpg
Pull tape and fog all the edges
    IMG_1648-th.jpg
pray on a few coats of candy Brandywine

    Starting to take shape

Now it's time for some Granny Panny lace.
    IMG_1656-th.jpg
Add a few coats of candy
    IMG_1660-th.jpg
    Fogging a detail the edges
    IMG_1664-th.jpg
More fogging at the other panels to create separation
    IMG_1669-th.jpg
Unmask it all and spray lots o candy
    IMG_1678-th.jpg
At this point it looks like it's all gone....but it's just hiding.

And now it's time for the STAR
    IMG_1695-th.jpg
I had a stencil done to make it possible to peel in sections
    IMG_1696-th.jpg
Jon was then able to shade it in sections
    IMG_1697-th.jpg
It matches the 56' Lincoln hubcap center that I'll be running sometimes.
    IMG_1701-th.jpg
A little more shading and just the right touch of white.
    IMG_1699-th.jpg
Now we buried the whole thing in many, many coats of clear
    IMG_1708-th.jpg
    As it sits right now.

I'll be going to get the car later today as it has sat in the both all weekend. Can't wait to see it in the sun light. Just using a small light source makes it jump out at you. It was really hard to photograph as the camera flash would just create a Gold sheen. Really need to thank Alan and Jon again cause this came out better than I had dreamed and will make a major change in the car. As soon as I get some pics in the sun I'll post......but I am in the Northwest.

Alan was right, the Gods are Happy and the Sun came out. Here's a couple pics. Alan feel free to add some if yours came out better. I can't put all the trim back on til after we Cut & Buff.

Keith, In fotki you have to modify your "album properties" , then select "Advance properties" and then select "Photo view size". I like to use 750 x 750.
