I nearly lost the faith and did something philosophically impure: I was thinking about buying another car to run in the winter. Thankfully, a coworker pointed out the intellectual dishonesty of buying a winter beater when ostensibly I bought my car partially as an objection to living in a disposable society.

I also have to thank my wife for talking me into spending the $1500 I might have used to buy a beater to further fix up my Falcon.

So, into another winter we go. Hopefully with a better-sealed interior to keep in some of the heat this time.

WHOA!! This is EASILY the best looking Fairmont I've ever seen. Goes to show that more modern cars with the right taste can be made into lookers too. Huge Congrats. Bet it was a cool car to own!

1971 Ford Torino - Daily from April until November - 20K miles since purchased Nov 2008
    1972 Ford F100 - Daily for 2 years until I sold it
1960 Studebaker Lark - My brother's daily for 2 years - Drove from Pittsburgh to Detroit regularly. 30K miles on it since bought for $1600 bucks.
1948 Ford F100 - Brothers daily year round. Had 1 wiper and aux heater. He drove 50 miles a day. Sold this summer.
    2001 Porsche 911 Carrera4S - My AWD winter car for 1 year

Unfortunately my Torino has been smacked into numerous times since I live in the city and park on the street. I am going to buy a car I don't care about until I have a living situation and job that more old car friendly. I don't want it to get totaled.

One is an '82, so not HAMB friendly. Looking to change that though and make another daily. Thinking maybe a '62 Impala.

  18. Have logged over 10,000 on the '37's odometer since buying it May 5, 2011.

Here's a few shots from this morning, coming home from StL.

    This took the place of a 2000 Dodge Ram 2500 V10 4x4.

    Best decision of my life.

The only thing that keeps me from driving these is either salt on the road or if secure parking isn't available (Newark Airport, Manhattan, etc..) Oh and once or twice a week I go to the auction, sometimes it's a 200 mile drive so I take a company car.
