Cool. Me and my dad build a scale garage in 1/25 when I was young. Still have it.

George just called and says he wants his royalty check!!! Just kidding!!! That's so awesome!!! I want to do stuff like this with my son when he gets older. Great to see healthy relationships between fathers and sons being forged. Congrats and keep it up!

Careful, you're going to end up with huge bricks that way. :D

Just kidding of course, both Barris brothers are my heros. I totally dig what you're doing, too. Keep up the great work.

  7. It's coming along really nicely, keep up the good work!

  8. Great work from a talented team

  9. It happens faster than you think. LilT just turned 5 and last night he spotted a stack of models up on a shelf and immediately wanted to build them!

I better start stocking up then. Memphis turns 2 this year and I can only imagine how fast it goes from here.

It's cool seeing things being passed on.

What a great project! Way beyond what I was doing at your age. It's so great seeing you and your dad working together on this and hopefully on future projects.

Did you make those stencils at home? If so, how? I have a couple projects in the work that could sure benefit from them. Would love to be able to make my own.

I have a friend in Malta that builds 1/32 museum scale aircraft of veterans that he has written to, quite often they give him information about the aircraft markings not available anywhere else. After he's finished, he takes photos of the aircraft and sends them to the veteran, some for the veteran to keep, and some for the veteran to autograph and return to him (he sent me a couple that Tex Hill autographed), that would be a neat thing to do when you are finished, since some photos to Barris for him to autograph. It would look cool framed next to the model.

Jeffrey James, try to put the brakes on now for you childrens growth! It will go faster than you can say.....say...well hell!

Cherish every moment, spend time with them and try to hang on to the memories of their young years, take plenty of photos and video, because before you know it, they are "smarter than you" and "know it all". Buts thats just the start of the next phase! Good luck!! P.S. love youre coupe!

  17. Here is the drive way and cemented area. Here is dad rolling on the thick textured paint.

We checked out many photos and sort of came up with this patten of concrete which matches what we saw in the photos.

Dad and I made all the gutters and grass bits by shaping the M.D.F. with a sharp knife and sprinkling saw dust as grass.

    Close up of concrete

    and cracks and stuff.

And we airbrushed some grey on the buildings to represent dirtiness that was in real life.
