Because you can is real engine porn. Would it be possible for a more in depth review of the engine and boat (perhaps a separate thread?). Throw in some info on the salt car to keep it traditional. :p

Are you alright now? Hope the docs were wrong.

    How do U cool it?

  9. Run's on alcohol and only long enough to make a pass. I don't run any water in the block or heads either, the water fills are for show. Alcohol runs quite cool. If it just sat and idled it could run the tank dry and never get hot.

Alcohol, yep. Some folks leave a water pump on alky motors just to pump what little water/coolant is in the block around so ive seen. But you can just eliminate it all together as well for drag only applications, extended use obviously requires pump/radiator

This is my someday build. I'm sure some of you know what it is , but for the ones who don't. It is a 430 MEL Mercury with a 8x2 intake. In the T I'm building for my son.

Not sure how I missed this post over the years...but I dig it, glad it was resurrected !

Multi carbs are fun to think about, but DAMN hard to get right...Kinda appeals to that matchbox car we all had as kids...the one with the blower sticking out past the roof

This is my contribution...some have already seen it in other posts.
Fun project, something to do ya know?:p

I saw the early cross ram intake years ago as in the first picture and it got me thinking. Decided to fab our own I.R. setup using Qjets. Why? because we wanted throttle response with no CFM limitations... since they are self regulating secondaries with mechanical throttle plates it was the carb of choice.

Too much detail for this post, but it ran, gave me fits, still puzzles me and I still wanna make it right some day!
Velocity stacks? Yep, too afraid of the fuel soaked filters catching fire if it backfired...

Wish I had a way to post video cause I've got lots...when it runs, it's entertaining to say the least :D

Keep em coming, its what the HAMB is all about!
