Sorry didn't mean to mislead. It does have side doors. 1 of them was replaced with a window door sometime in it's life. I'd like to replace it with a no window door so if anyone wants to trade a solid door for my window door let me know. It's the side door closest to the passenger door.

  2. bought a 64 econoline pickup for 200 bucks when i was in high school. flipped the ring gear around so it would start, painted it and drove it for years. i always thought it would've been cool to put an olds toronado front wheel drive 455 in the bed!! sold it before i got the chance.

there's just so few of them. they really don't make sense. there hard to un load, hard to get a engine in and out, but they paint up great! mine is a 64 with a 302/aod combo. it's funny that even at the econowest gatherings, most people don't notice. and when they do, they ask if i did it. mine was in hot rod july 2010 van craze artical. red primer, et 10 spokes. 15x12's in the back.

Yeah, those are pretty rare. I guess they must have been mainly used by carpet delivery companies.

Funny you say that, the 1st owner of mine was a carpet company. Rex Floor Covering in Menlo Park, CA which they purchased the van on July 28 1964. The company has been closed for years but I still have the original book to the van with their purchase info. Pretty damn cool.

Does any one know if the front spindles on a early Econline are the same as the 1940 to 48 Ford car that also had a straight front axle? ~~AFX Dave~~

Daughter (Allison) won BEST TRUCK at the Detroit Autorama Extreme yesterday. Red White and Blue 1961 Econoline Drag Truck. I posted pictures of it a few pages back. I will post more recent ones soon. Proud Papa!

Thanks! Yes it is a GM tilt column, I'm not sure what it came out of. Need to devise a column cover to hide all that column stuff.
