I found some vintage drag racing footage from my dad's 16mm archive. Enjoy...

After watching, I find myself somewhere between nystagmus and epilepsy.

    Too cool! Thanks for sharing!

My dad used to race an A/FD there a lot in the late 60's & early 70's. The car was called the 4th Cavalry running a Big Block Chevy.

Sorry guys! I apologize for the poor video quality...look past the jitter and find the small glimpses of greatness I saw when I first saw this footage. I didn't film this...just found it in our family keepsakes and thought you might enjoy it. The Green Valley footage is very limited from what I have found. I think this is pretty cool! I miss hearing those roaring cars on the weekends. I'm positive there are countless residents who are clueless they are living on the very place where history was made at Green Valley Raceway.

My grandad was racing our 1929 roadster on 32 rails there around then, we still have the car and recently restored it. I cant pull the video up at work but will definately check it out when I get home.

Thanks for posting. I was lucky enough to go for a night race in the early 80's. Still have the program somewhere. It was a great strip. I was over by where the track use to be just the other day. Nothing left of it at all. Its all new houses now, kinda sad.

Well . . . . , if you look just to the North off of Bursey, you will see about 100 yards or so of the asphalt still there. $400K houses all around but still there!!

Told my daughter that she lived a couple of miles from one of my teen road trip destinations, could not believe it.

If that is the same event with SWC and Big John, also had K.S. Pittman and I think Ohio George . . . . , been a while back, not sure where my photos are.

Way cool. Real hotrods , not modern Big $ rocket sleds. Interesting that big teams like John Mazmanian & Stone/Woods/Cook used lil open tralers, too!

Also must add my thanks for posting this. I was hoping to see a glimpse of my dad, but nothing there. One fun note, as I was watching it, War's "Low Rider" came on the radio in the shop. Gotta love synchronicity.
