my 65 fairlane a/fx straight axle build

    I wish I would have took more pics of the underside wile it was on the rotisorie and yes I did make some sub frame conectors out of 1x3 square tubing 14 guage and then I boxed that into the contoure of the floor ill take a picture in the am ...

    Oh yeah guys I installed a crites thunderbolt traction bars setup with the crossmember. with all of the stiffing work that I have done this thing should hook hard and go straight. Next week its back to the media blasters

    i got some surface rust but thats okay its gonna get sand blasted next week and then its going to be finished in my garage instead of working under this car port

    Hey judd the reason why I added u is becouse I'm from new Orleans an I was working on one of bp's oilrigs in the gulf and got laid off year and a few months ago when the spill happend so I moved to ga where my moms from and found work but besides all of this about 4 years ago I was at the gulfport drag way with my dad u mite reamber him he has a 63 dodge 330 2 door sedan if that rings any bells ,but while I was there I met u and fell in love with your car I talked with u for atleast 30 mins that nite ...to sum it all up u made me want to build one of these style cars so i finally found a nice car to start with last summer ..small world after all

    I had to replace the passanger front pan becouse of the heatercore so I went ahead and did both sides but it dose have some rot in the trunk gutters where the weather strip was as u can c in the pictures. the hole in the trunk is for my fuel cell

    Damn Wayne, that's gonna be a cool ride, but don't listen to much to Judd, he races everything he's got, including, I think, his tow truck! LOL
    I'll be watching this build closely as I want to build the same thing with a 65 Comet. Seems as if Judd gets everybody motivated in some way...Good Luck

    Brad I'm hereing that a Southerngasser member has a solid 64or65 Falcon 2dr sedan body for $300. Old race car radiused rear wheel openings no front suspension (strait axle removed) junk 8" to roll around on. Close to a 64/65 Comet 2dr sedan The doors interchange and I think the front would with comet radiator core suport.

    looks cool .i had bad luck with that chrome powder coat on my bike frame it don't hold up to road dirt at all.
