  5. Are these "true" Chrome reverse or just stock style chrome wheels? I looked on the Summit site but did not find them. Thanks, Todd

  6. Stock chrome wheels, but I think they are available in different offsets???

Search the summit sight using "Wheel Vintiques".

True chrome reverse are gonna mean going with wheelkid or another specialty company. Expensive with long waits is usually the rule here.

    Great Thread!
I see two different type of reverse chrome wheels.
The first has the the stair step lip - Series 62 style wheel
And the smooth lip - 51 series style wheel (Smoothie)

I like the 51 for the deep lip appearance, but the ones i have seen do not have the nubs to hold the outer mounting dog dish caps. The vintage reverse wheels that i see have the deeper lip, but it seems like the newer offerings are more like the 62 series.
    Anyone have additional insight?

  13. These are actually smoothies because I couldn't find any real reversed wheels when I bought them.

    Back from the dead....

I'm trying out this look on my Chevy II. These are from Wheel Vintiques. I've seen some bad comments about this company on the forum, but these wheels are great! Nice plating, and balanced perfectly with very little weight.

I need to get the back ones mounted yet!

I had just bolted those on the front 15 min before I took the pic last weekend, and posted the pic about 2 hours after that. :D

I'll post some pictures when I get the back tires mounted and can get the car out of the garage.

There are many references to WheelKid. How do I get a hold of him for some questions? I need a 13 to 14 inch wide chrome reverse wheel. Wondering if he can help? Thank you.
    Update:
Did a search and realized that wheelkid is at RallyAmerica. Already sent a contact to them. Sorry, I should have searched first. Mark L

Picked these up this weekend at a swap meet. They came from an old store stock from 20+ years back. The one in the rear is reversed and does not match the other two.

  28. The best wheels ever in my opinion. Hard to find Ford/Dodge 4 1/2" pattern. Much more Chevy 4 3/4"" patterns around . They are a fair weather wheel very subject to rust pitting especially on a daily driver that is used in all weather conditions ,gravel roads etc. I'm not sure if it is the just quality of the chrome (or if the new wheels are better chrome today). I am in a very harsh climate, which does not help.
I have heard different opinions on rechroming old chrome reverse wheels, or having a custom set made at a wheel shop at the offset and width desired ,then chromed.
It may be an option for those with odd bolt patterns for Oldsmobiles, Buicks and 55-60 Mercurys that have a 5 inch pattern .

  30. to they guys with the 60's cars. What type of backspacing are you running? I am getting ready to buy a set of 14x6 for my 64 Impala and there are a few different backspacing options. I want to make sure the ones I order will fit. I want some dish on them so I was thinking about a 2.5 inch backspace. Any suggestions?
