  8. Didn't Richard Petty once have a rear engined Hemi powered drag truck like that for a day or two? I might be thinking of the wrong person but seem to remember one of those on the strips with a blown hemi in the rear back in the 60s.

    Hmmmm......right colors......

  10. At first I thought it might be Rich Travers' "Dodge Material" or Frank Monaghan's Dodge, but the paint doesn't match up to either of those. Interesting...

I work for a local scrap yard hear in Indianapolis and was lucky enough to see the apicture above roll across the scale, some old timer had bought it to make a trike with a VW motor on it but said it was too much work to repair. Bought the cab, a shortened bed and 2 front wire wheels for $30 off him that day

I wonder if that visor will fit on my '53 Desoto?

Took a walk in the woods to enjoy our Northern NY non-winter, and what do I find not a mile from my house?

A sweet '55 Poncho Star Chief! Not too much left now, but it must have been some ride back in the day --

I'd love the side trim off of that for one of my shoeboxes. All of the 2 door hardtop trims and pieces on that car will fit the 55-57 Chevys, so this car would be well worth digging out or at least stripping in place for parts, lots and lots of good stuff on there yet. Could make you some money if you have access to the car, who's property is it on?

    Not mine I'm afraid!

The trims are interesting on that car. The chrome stripes on the hood and down the rear fenders seem to die castings, and I love these V8 badges!

Im pretty sure its not (was) a wheelstander. Every wheelstander had the glass removed, NHRA rule. The passenger door paint isnt as faded where the marker light would have been, but without looking at the vin I cannot tell you what year it is.

I'd be asking around. At the very least there is a bunch to salvage off that car. The headliner bows alone would be worth the hassle. Front seat even if it's trashed is still worth the effort. As noted, all the side trim.

Hood hinges are pretty hard to find for those cars. (they are different than the Chevy's)

I'd be asking around about it.
