  3. Well the pedals are finished up and mounted. The steering column started out as a '40 pickup column but the tube was beat to shit. I cut the tube off and just used the bell part that's by the steering wheel. I welded in a new tube using 1 1/2" DOM and used a 3/4" DD shaft and some press in bearings. I still have to make the column drop, I plan on doing that this week end. The shifter is one of those cheap aftermarket ones for a mustang I got off eBay. The mustang shifter will fit a s-10 t-5 you just have to drill two new holes in the base and trim off about an inch off the base also. The shift handle is 1/2" stainless that I heated and bent then polished. The shift knob is a 100 year old porcilin door knob that I found on eBay.

  4. The steering column mount is finished. It's made out of 1/4" stainless plate and a stainless collar.

Excellent work Fritz! I just found this thread and will try to incorporate some of your ideas into mine. I have a 28 A.

Keep up the great work and keep the pics flowing.

Great work, going to be a killer ride.

  10. ImageUploadedByTJJ1328894480.453751.jpg I started making up the radiator support rods. The fire wall brackets are stainless , I had to move them out a few inches so the rods would clear the carbs.

  11. ImageUploadedByTJJ1328894733.381731.jpg I used 5/16" stainless rod and welded a 3/8 stainless carriage bolt to one end and a 5/16" bolt to the other

  12. ImageUploadedByTJJ1328895712.213420.jpg The bracket on the radiator is a little higher than the fire wall brackets. So I put a double bend in the rods so it wouldn't look goofy going up hill.

  13. ImageUploadedByTJJ1328902250.610329.jpg The rods are all polished up ( I said rod).

  19. Dead in the water

I've been really busy with customer work lately. At least I'll have a few bucks to spend on it when I do have the time :D

  20. Thanks Bruce, can't wait to check out your '34 in a few weeks.

  21. I feel your pain, this is the first I've worked on the Model A in 9 months.

looks great - I'm diggin' the license plate mount ... neat touch

  24. ImageUploadedByTJJ1329153605.621408.jpg I had this radiator made to fit the original rad shell. Not thinking they would put the neck on the back side of the tank so that had to go.

Great Job I especially like the the X member and it's placement.

  26. ImageUploadedByTJJ1329172010.526762.jpg I carefully cut the neck off and reused it. I had to make this 1/2" spacer to raise the neck up high enough so it would fit in the rad shell

  27. ImageUploadedByTJJ1329176588.822060.jpg can't lie I had my cousin weld the radiator together, he is way more skilled at welding aluminum.

  28. ImageUploadedByTJJ1329176816.342058.jpg This is the cap that came with the radiator. It's actually just an aluminum cover over the cap. This won't cut it on this car, so I ground off the logo and polished it.

  29. ImageUploadedByTJJ1329177067.253978.jpg Cap polished. I'm doing this from my phone that's why I can only do one picture at a time.
