There's Wayne Calvert's Precision Engines in Denton, Texas that's been there since hell was a campfire. He raced at the inaugural NHRA event in Great Bend, Kansas in '55. Stand up guy and real gentleman.

  16. Blair's Speed Shop in Pasadena is still going strong. Only two owners, first Don Blair and then his employee Phil Lukins, who still has it. considered by many to be the oldest Speed Shop in the Country, opened in 1946, so that's 66 years!

same year that Alex opened So Cal Speed, the big difference being, So Cal closed in 1961 and the "New" So Cal didn't open til 1997, so that doesn't really count .....

  21. Wow! I've been right in that area many times and never knew there was a speed shop there. I would have checked it out. I guess that will give me something to do next time I'm there.

Cool that a Montanan [Hackman] posted Salem Speed Shop before any of us Oregonians could do it. Yep, I'm 66, and Salem Speed has been around since I was in H.S.
