Doing a 318 swap in my 1950 dodge coronet. Wondering what to do for a radiator? Wondering if the original one will cool a 318? Or if anyone knows what radiator will fit in there? Or where to have one made for it if i neeed to? Thanks..
Should work, on the 46-8s you can reverse the radiator mount frame, moves the radiator forward for extra room
back in the late 80's I ran around with a friend that had a 50 wayfarer with 318 2bbl/904, hooked to Granada 8". The stock radiator moved forward as described above. I don't remember anymore what fan he was running. The car never overheated, ran 190-210 pretty much all the time. After he sold the car the new owner louvered the hood. Reportedly the car never went over 190 again.
My la based 360 wouldn't squeeze in without some trimming. Then I had to trim even more when I installed the alternator.
Thanks, that's what I thought. I have a '50 Wayfarer Sportabout Roadster in need of a drivetrain but it's too rare to cut up. I'll just stick to the hopped up L-head plan.
