Hate to do this because it is a signature mopar thing But I am considering taking of the fender ribs I like them because they r different and the are a mopar mark but they just take away from the soothe look I am trying to create '
The ribs look fucking SICK! But it's your car. That is what caught my eye on farmer12's car. Do what YOU want, so you dont regret it later. Love that Mopar.
Like you said, they are different and look good IMHO. It is your car though.....I'm not sure that your car will look a lot smoother without the lines. How about photoshopping it first, before you start cutting? Good luck in deciding.
try to get some 1940's fenders...they match and don't have the ribs and it's all mopar. Seriously...the ribs are cool, but I completely get you. we took them off mine, as we reshaped the whole rear fender section to make it fit on the caprice chassis (I will get killed now for admitting this by the hardcore mopar guys now)...and I do not mind that they are gone. And in the end it's your car.
Dont get me grong I love the ribs But I want to run skirts and there is just to much groin on might cut the ribs out and ad them to the fender skirts not sure, would love to keep them but everytime I look at the ribs they kinda brake up the flow of everything and wait to deside on this till later since in love the fact that it is a signiture mopar acent and i love all these chevy and ford guys realizing what nice lines these mopars have maybe I will take farmer12 advise and Photoshop the car first
some duct tape and spray paint getting better idea still a little to much sail pannel time to take two steps back to go 3 foward
I am enjoying this thread to no end. Not to detract from your hard work, but Jochen's (ThinkFink) front end makes his car look like a bird of prey. Removing those horizontal bars where the hood meets the top of the grill area really changed the flow of the front end. I love the way the chrome just swoops over from the sides down into the front at a point.
Finally roof is done so in the end put a 1941 mercury rear window pannel moved rear catwalk section forward 5 inches dint think it needed that much I was wrong moved top roof section back 4 inches chopped front 3 " back 4" reshaped quarter windows to a more sharp corner look even tho it was fun I'm ready to move on to the next part of the project
rear air ride suspencion is done so I need to get a drive line made and finish the brakes ,electrical wiring, motor is done did that and tranny a couple of years ago
