Condominium of varmints! Very solid purchase mister. Choprods can take 2 1/2" outta the top if you want to break free from the gasser madness.

I love the lines of those chev's. If it were mine, I would put a warmed up 235 in it, a t5, and an open rearend. See if you can upgrade the front brakes to the better 51+ drums and cruise.

Good find and good luck with the project!

And please don't make it a gasser. Nothing wrong with gassers, but not every car needs to be a gasser. That thing deserves to look classy, low and smooth...

Sprinkle some PUREX powder on the floors and seats, get it damp, let sit for a few days, rinse......and viola! Put her inside to dry out for awhile. Most all my projects have started out like yours. Don't smell nuttin no moe.

I like the sound of that. However why not spend this 216 first? I consider it a volunteer as it cranked right up. Why not let it have a go any parts like header and intake water pump and fuel pump will pass to the 235 later if I am right. Drive it while building the 235. As for the t5 and open drive I totaly agree. I think I need a 2 cyl master cyl and a booster. I would like to get away from the old axle also if it is to be a daily driver? Pros and cons lets hear em

You likely need to upgrade the brakes. The easiest way is to change to a more modern rear end but the front brakes do most of the stopping so an upgrade there will get you by for a while. If it runs good, run it.

  16. Forget all about that 216, this car is calling for a big ole RAT motor or at the very least a MOUSE motor.

That sure looks like a good solid start . Looked like it was a rat hotel !
I like the daily driver idea (and the no gasser idea) .

It's a sign to install a big block rat engine in this car.

I agree with you. Go through the brakes, gas tank, tires, gauges, glass, etc. Get it running then go from there... an overdrive will boost the speed and the mpg..

There are lots of cars like my avatar that started with good intentions then...

Did you remember to wash your hands after cleaning out the rats?

You guys are so lucky-- if a car has any sheet metal at all left from the middle of the doors down around here, it is considered to be a "good find".

Didn't see any rats, just alot of potential. It's amazing what people use for a garbage can.
