Yeah, the factory rails sounds like an idea. Though I want to file them down and make them into 'C' chanel.
The seats were scratch built, I have about 5 different styles I copied when I was working at an air museum.

Plans for the above ones, a bit 'bent!'.

Yesterday in the mail I received 3 HUGE poster packs from Rodder's Journal. They are awesome. Good prizes for sure.

Heres one, its the OOooooooooooooooooooooooooLD Monogram 32 Roadster, yeah that old one where the body came split in half and solid plastic wheels.
Much of it is scratch built like the front axle, windscreen, most of the bits on and around the motor.
    Its a warm up...............

I don't know if I will enter the contest or not as I am an extremely slow builder and also usually have a few different types of models going on at once. I just started the new Revell five window and I am going to do a car similar to the one attached. I am going to use the slicks and front tires out of the new AMT 1962 Pontiac Catalina as they are great representations of the early/mid 60s drag tires. I was thinking of using the Revell Cadillac parts pack engine, but I just remembered I have Competition Resins Ardun heads & SCOT blower that would look great in this car, just have to remember where I put them!

I have a set of the Ardun heads from the Revell '50 Ford Pickup that I might use on my 5W Deuce... :)

    BTTT, any updates?

  24. I was test fitting those on mine today... Great minds... I think I'm going to de-chrome the Kelsey wheels and see if the spokes get a little thinner. I think laquer or water based acrylic will coat them thinner and really make them pop. Then I'll probably use them on the '32 Sedan kit. I may use the Ardun in that one and a SBC in the coupe. Not sure yet. I'm leaning towards an early 60's look so the Chevy, possibly a nail head, seems to be a good fit.

  25. Check this out, I don't think this car will be the contest car as there is way too much left to do to clean up the body. I built it using two 3 window kits, literally bashed together. I'll dig up the drawing that shows the cuts I made and post it here once I figure out what I did with it (D'OH!!!)

Tried a look at it on a partially built chassis from a '30 coupe I'm also building. For this version I used the '34 truck shell and side panels as they flow nicely with the deuce rails and doors. The engine is a Caddy with a log style, 8 pot manifold. I filled the roof using
a big chunk of the AMT '56 Ford, which fit the contours amazingly well. Good ol' ford, if it aint broke don't fix it. I guess that applied to roof contours as well...

  26. Here's the '30 which began it's transition 30 something years ago...

This is how I built it originally but then I watched "American Graffiti". Didn't matter to me
that It wasn't a '32 at the time, just a 5 window ... (I was so happy the day the Revell Deuce 3 window kit was released with that great frame and chassis set up.)
