I notice that the cab lacks the "style line" (or "reveal", or whatever its called) that wraps around the rear/top of the cab. What year did it appear/disappear? Or was your cab modified to eliminate that reveal?

This is the line I'm referring to:

Hey voodoo twin my cab hasn't been modified so not sure why I don't have it.Maybe Aussie thing on bodies here as in pix my mates doesn't to..Someone must know the answer..Rod..[IMG][IMG]

  7. I'd swear you had a mix between 38/39 cab back and 40-47 front half. Maybe the trucks were different down there.

The body line across the back of the cab on my '45 was one large bead, not two like yours, i didn't notice that before.

I made my back window a power window. With the cowel vent open and the back window open I get lots of cool air on a long hot trip

Hey Rod the body you have is an Aussie body which is different to the USA ones, The aussie ones have a bigger back window, vent windows in the doors, the usa ones had one piece glass, the aussie cabs don't have the reveal around the back of the cab like the previous photos from VoodooTwin,
also the swage around the back of the cab is a double where the usa one is a single one, looks to me like your mates cab is a 40/41 aussie cab with the fuel filler on the left hand side where the 42 has it on the right side your mates has the earlier triple swage on the doors as well
I hope this helps a little

    Regards Peter

Peter thanx for all the info that clears up a lot , I was thinking that we got different bodies than America .I do like that we don't have the reveal on the Aussie bodies makes them unique ...Rod.

    Looking good Rod,

Pothy (I think he's hooked up with you guys) is coming down tomorrow to check out the work that Renea is doing, on his Chev pickup.

I've got the go slows here at the moment, but all's well,

    L&R

  30. Cool project! It is fun watching the parts pile grow. I have always had a soft spot for '40 pickups.
