Yes. Phil Spector is said to have developed his 'Wall Of Sound' studio technique on the Ronettes early recording sessions. Spector employed double and triple instrumentation lineups, like two and three complete drummers and drum sets, two or three bass players, five lead guitars, five saxophonists, etc, all playing the same parts. He would then run this through an echo chamber to give that thunder effect you hear, and BOOM!, you had the wall of sound.

Word is that he didn't like the multitracking that was becoming popular at the time. With multitracking, you could use one bass player to double and triple himself by laying a bass track, rewinding the tape, then have him play the same thing, accompanying himself by listening to his first track through headphones, on a new track. I guess that Spector didn't like this because you lose the fatness and studio presence that live players in the studio gives.

The basic nucleus of his studio orchestra was known as the 'Wrecking Crew.'

Certainly a Speedster for sure. The body and radiator shell are most likely home made or were perhaps an aftermarket kit.

Great tech info there, Automaclism! THANKS!!! :D

The Wrecking Crew was not a formal "band" but often worked together. Among the "regulars" were: Glen Campbell  ( a prolific session player and one-time Beachboys sub before going solo); Larry Knechtel  (session player with way too many credits to list, but a regular in the '70s mega-band, Bread); Leon Russell ;) (session player & scored with Snuff Garrett for Gary Lewis, Glen Campbell and Joe Cocker, etc., before going solo); arranger/producer Jack Nitzsche  (later with Neil Young & Crazy Horse); arranger/producer Sonny Bono  (a proven songwriter, arranger and performer in his own right, even before Cher came along -- whom Sonny managed to stardom,BTW;)).

I get the impression Bug was a common term, Deuce Daddy Don said his mother referred to such a car as a bug. Louis Ross' 1904 Lightning Bug may have been the first Bug and a subsequent nameless Stanley was quickly nicknamed Woggle-Bug prompting Stanley to try a couple of official names which didn't stick.

then almost 20 years later we have the Kissel Goldenbug

With the curved pointy rear body work that would be a Torpedo Speedster
(They were made to be more aerodynamic - Just ignore the buldozer nose)
