  3. Thanks , first to DOC, 57BoB, dustdevilL, mctim64 and roseville carl!!!

mctim64, I think Ford Uni-trucks are cool. I've thought about putting one into a comp for my files, PM me (?)

roseville carl, I agree with regards to the car that inspired the drawing, inspired by DOC, inspired by fire... Maybe those back ground colors in a SoCal setting aren't such a good idea after all. As I was working on it, it recalled the eery glow in the skies from the Malibu fires, visible from our apartment, back in the 90s.

Speeking of inspiration from HAMB owners cars, how about this one inspire by bbb's cool photos of the 39 Willys Gasser and co.
I sketched it out this morning, tweaked the camera level so it's lower.
Look at the photo closely, the car looks like it's grinning just a little. Bet lots of you did too...

  9. Dan. Next time your driving through Nebraska, get away from the interstate and head across the north end, come stop by my place. We'll give ya some grub and maybe even a beer. Nice photos Dan the man.

PS Keep a hobby alive for this and the next generation, While your viewing fellow HAMB artist's stuff anyway, get more inspiration from the hobbyists

Thanks so much Jigger! Likewise if you are going to be in the Denver area. All your stuff is great this week as well - I have been waiting to see that Model A finished ever since seeing it a few weeks ago and I can't believe you can whip out a drawing of that quality that quickly.

This is a sample of the coloring book we did last year - there are a LOT of guys that said they were going to contribute this year....I hope they still want to.

This year we will have Zombie, BigToe, Max Grundy, Shawn Dickinson, Nate Greco, Joey Finz, Chad Scheres, Bo Monster, Ben Drag Daddy Mitchell, Sara Ray, Mark Thompson, Ger Peters, Del Swanson,
Cori Harkness, Dustin Weisgerber, John Detrich, Mike Learn, Grant Cushman, REV, Eggie, Paul Kester, Corrie Erikson, Jim Hively, Ryan Curtis, Kris Chisholm, Chrestian Willhans, Mark Ervin, Zakka
and others contributing to the coloring book.
We are trying to get one piece per artist....several artists have contributed more than one piece and we appreciate that.

Just some good old pencil sketch or line art will work. Keep it kid friendly of course and keep it
vertical....I know cars lend themselves to horizontal alignment ( turning the page on the side) but I
hope to keep as many of the images right side up as possible. We hope that the focus will be hot ord or motorcycle and monster
    related!
    size will need to be:
300 dpi full size graphics 9”x12”
    or close to this big....

If you can contribute please email me at:
    [email protected]
    or [email protected]
    To see last years book:
    http://p4.hostingprod.com/@vintagetorque.com/asphaltfiends.html
The proceeds from the coloring book go to paying medical bills.

Man, lots of great work today, everyone!

I don't post in the Friday Art Threads often at all, mostly because I'm not an artist :)

I've been thinking about something different and creative to use as a coffee table in my living room and came up with this:
(just need glass top and rubber 'supports' to finish)

Started with a quick rendering in AutoCAD

Big thanks to Irish Mike for sending a set of nice flathead connecting rods!

I cut about 6-1/2" out of a pair of banjo axle tubes, welded them back together, came up with a way to bolt the connecting rods to them, and this is the result:

Sorry about the crappy cell phone pic, but it's all I have for now
