Great Build! Subscribed! I'm planning the mod's on my own -37 coupe. It will be a 40-50's style hot rod with no parts (except for the gearbox, T5) newer than mid fifties. Perhaps you need a push car Btw, the Bob Riedel Hemi above is a -36 I guess.
I think that's actually a little older, not newer. Looks like around 1935 or maybe 36. Here's a friend's 1935:

Great thread. I'm subscribed. I'm starting on a '39 Olds coupe gasser project I recently traded for. I thought it was fairly far along, but, the more I dig, the more I find things were just mocked up and need to be finished or completely redone. I, too, was thinking of the truck arm rear suspension as that is basically what came on the Olds from the factory.
...Subsribed...looking great...mine is kinda parellel alng the same lines, '38 Chev P/U in the avatar. Started the project in September, and finishing the frame this week (hopefully if I get time).... You are doing a great job, can't wait to see it done. Tom
I really dig the build, gets my juice goin' on my gasser. I was out side today,33 out and windy......what an idiot, I froze. Nice to see others workin' on a budget, just like the real thing back in the day. Can't wait to see more......
Did you paint the frame with the black Rustoleum also? This is right up my alley also, I'm also tryin' to work on the CHEAP. Things are really taking shape, can't wait to see paint. You have to work Rustoleum into a name on it!!
Keep it up, it's pushing me to head out side in the elements again on my own. Are you putting any thoughts a doll bars yet?
I had Dzus fasteners on my steel tilt frontend, and they were a bit of a pain to jiggle things and get them latched or unlatched. I ended up removing them and welding the holes shut, then bought some used hood latches off a Nissan mini truck at U Pull It. I installed mounting plates inside my fenders at mating halves, then drilled and installed the latches. Works great, and makes opening/closing the frontend very easy now!
When I bought mine they came in packs of 10, so I ended up with extras. Now I've got all 10 extras. Send me your address and how many you need and I'll send them to you so you wont have to buy them.
Looking good plumbid. I'm jealous, my '39 Olds gasser project is not going nearly as fast as yours. What engine are you planning on and the horse power guestimate. I, too, have an 8.8 explorer 3.73 traclok and didn't know how strong those posi units were.
I dig the look of the car and your build gives me more of a push to get more of mine going. I like the white wheels on the car more than those black ones, makes it look meaner. Keep working, it's keeping us "Do it your selfers going".
Looking great! Did the 37 have those ugly lumps around the front bumper brackets like the earlier 35 has?

car is coming out great alot of old mopar coupes are popping up glad you put a sbc in it so sick of all the oh no not another sbc crew keep posting can,t wait to see it done
