So I looked around and could not find a thread on this. I was wondering if anyone had named their kid after cars or parts. Growing up we had some family friends who had a son named Bumper. Now that we are thinking of having our first kid was wondering if anyone had any good examples of car related kid names.

  2. Give the kid a break,,give them a normal name not something they are going to have to spell every time they meet someone for the rest of their life!

My daughter named our granddaughter Veda as in Veda Orr but this is a constant correction for a seemingly normal name.

BTW,,that is what the search button is for,,,this has been posted quiet a few times. HRP

  11. Bodyman friend of mine had a bunch of dalmations at the shop named Bumper, Fender, Chassis, Rocker. I thought that was cool. I couldn't imagine introducing your family and having it sound like an invoice from a repair shop.

    Ha ha dipstick.
My what a odd you have there Bumper, I bet your father is a real dipstick. Fender replied, " hey, how did you know my dad's name"

My boy is named Clay. Somewhat after Clay Smith, but mostly because I liked the name.

Although she didn't appreciate it ,.. E.J. Potter named his daughter "Allison",... yes,.. after the engine,..... Like mentioned earlier,.. give the kid a brake. I went to school with a kid whose Dad was a plumber,.... His name was "Rusty Phype" (Pronounced "Pipe"). Rusty was not amused.

  23. I went to school with some twins named Coke and Pop. There folks said that they were artists, that was double speak for being a beatnick toward the end of the beatnick period leading into the hippy revolution.

Sounds like a good way to make your kid hate cars.
