I am looking for a 46-48 Plymouth Coupe Model. Preferablly something that can be redone like my 48 Special Deluxe Coupe. Seems like the cars I buy, never have a model available. I finally found a 70 Nova model, then I traded that for my 48.
There is a 41 Plymouth coupe kit available that's close. I think someone is making an aftermarket body. if I were you, I would ask on the Sunday Model Thread here on the HAMB weekly, those guys know what is out there. Gene
I saw an injected molded p15 a few years back at the Syracuse Nats. R and R started the companies name or similar. Body only, you gotta buy the AMT 41 kit for the other stuff.
Or try the Plastic Model Builders group in "Communities". http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/group.php?groupid=105 As "plym_46" mentioned, there is a resin kit available, but you'll also need the AMT '41 Coupe kit as a donor.
Here is a picture of the R&R resin kit that is available. It is very crude and will require an AMT 1941 Plymouth kit to finish and quite a bit of work. I believe they also offer a coupe and sedan? but not sure. I own this ragtop and build models and have shied away from finishing it due the work required. You can find this kit at ebay from seller named mightymouse or msmightymouse for around $50 plus shipping.
R&R kits are pretty crude, quality-wise. Their kit is basically the AMT '41 Plymouth kit with a vulture-beak looking nose grafted on. But that's the only game in town if you want a 1:25 Plymouth coupe of this vintage, there aren't even any diecasts other than a handful of pricey 1:43 factory-builts.
