Event Coverage Countdown to the Lonestar Round Up

Well Happy New Year to everyone. Jan 1st means alot of things to alot of folks, but to us in LSRU land it means the planning has begun for the 11th annual Round Up. Registration is open and the applications are already arriving and there is some choice cars already making plans to attend. The dates this year are April 13-15 so mark it down and make plans to spend some time w/ us in Austin this Spring. Looking forward to seeing everyone this year. I'm planning on driving over from Savannah, Georgia. One of my cars needs a road trip!!

 

Glad to see I'm not the only one who can't sleep. Looking forward to the lsru. Doesn't get much better.

Won't miss it!! Driving down Friday, with a quick snack at the Czech Stop! Actually got a room at the Austin Hotel this year.

 

Vacation days on the calendar, rooms booked at the Austin Motel, and thrashing on the DeLuxe! LSRU is the one and only vacation we take every year without fail and we can't wait!

 

We will be coming in straight from VLV on Route 66, pay Flat Top Bob a visit, and on to Austin.
Its going to be an Epic trip, stay tuned.

 

You need to call on a friend or 2 or 4 to lend a hand on your ride!

The Kiwis will be back this year. Last time we flew in ,this time its a rental. But will be cruising with a buddy so its not all bad. Really looking forward to it, and catching up. What sort of time do we need to allow to drive from VLV to Austin?

I`m like a kid waiting on Christmas. I think it crosses my mind at least once per day.

I will probably be driving my `56 down this year. At least it`s 90% ready to go.

I stayed there last year (and had a great time) and noted several (4-6) tow rigs parked outside of the garage. There seemed to be plenty of room if you arrive Friday afternoon/evening. I don't recall any tow rigs in the garage, probably due to tight turns. Take note: a few of these tow rigs were parked in a fire lane for several days without issue, just food for thought.

 

I'm leaving Friday morning as well.
