These rat lovers don't get that they can build ANYTHING they want! More power to you, have at it etc. Just don't post it here. And if you do, don't expect us to get all sweaty over it. As to the great workmanship, I see butt welded square tube, un capped, un-fishplated joints that are not mitered, four link bars in single shear just to name a few items. You (OP, Stainless and others) don't wanna get ragged on? Post the stuff you love on a site made for it. Show me one traditional tractor grilled square tube framed mud bogger exhaust frame stretched bent bodied 4 linked bobber truck making a pass on the street, strip or lakes back in the old days. It's so damned simple.

So we need to redefine what we think is Traditional because the Mini Truckers and Rat Rodders got involved in it?

    I dont think so...

  7. This is guaranteed to make a cover of a magazine , have you guys seen the newstands lately? I think there are more of these on the covers then anything.Ol Skool will be pounding on your door soon.Seems like these are becoming a lot more accepted around here.It really does capture the elegant smooth look that the magazines we see at the store are looking for.

Who really gives a shit what fads the media are pumping up our ass? The truck doesn't belong here, period. I go on forums where they love long nosed, short assed cartoon trucks and I wouldn't say a word over there, but here on the HAMB, I appreciate that we resist our credo getting watered down by stuff that belongs somewhere else.

You would think someone who had been on here for close to 3 years would have noticed the "NO RATROD" theme or maybe read one of those "sticky" threads but what do I know, I'm an FNG with a low post count... and if you look at the photobucket it would appear to be a Farmall Cub or B grill.

It's got a stretched out front end and a farm tractor grill, that = RAT cover shot on a couple of the rat rig magazines.

As far as rats only being low buck use what ya got, I've seen some pretty ragged ones with engines that obviously cost as much as my first house.

That truck could be made into something pretty interesting with the axle brought back closer to the grill and the grill changed to something like a 36 Ford truck grill shell that was sectioned like the one hanging in my shed that is off a 36 Ford bobber truck from the 60's that looked right on the money.

I agree, dump the John Deere tractor grill, move the front crossmember/front axle back as far as possible, and use a sectioned car or truck grill. Then it wil look a whole lot better than it does now!

After going back and taking a second look it looks like the engine and cab need to be moved forward so that the bottom of the cab covers the z at the front of the cab and the grill moves up to the front crossmember. That would get things back in proportion.
