Great show for the new year! love the T's!
I've got a couple of WIP's. AMT 50 Ford convertible . Testors dark gold,w/ white interior. Mild custom with 4 bucket seats, wide whites and black steelies. 34 Ford pickup, going to be like the box art of the original kit. Light purple with the original decals-I hope.

  6. HAPPY NEW YEAR fellas!!!

    Great start Fat141
    Love the Hudson Lyle
The slot shot are great too...

I'm with you Jim, I think I want to built the truck in this drawing but I also like the way they look stock. Since I have a Danbury Mint '57 Cameo and the AMT Cameo (with the wrong windows, thank you lordairgtar, for the reminder...) I think the chop is a good call so that's probably the way I'll go.

Anyone know who makes the 48 or 49 Olds style grilles, I've seen some in resin and it seems one of the recently released kits with custom options has one Chances are I'll end up scratch building the thing as it is simply based on the Olds styling...
I'm also considering modifying a set of fenders from AMT's old 53 Ford kit to create the exaggerated slant and extension of the rear fenders.

A couple views as it currently sets:

There is a guy in my car club who built his Ranchero after that model. It's exactly like it. He has the unopened model box in the back window at shows. Pretty cool.

    Steve, your work is brilliant.
Jim, hope these pics help. Unfinished like a lot of my stuff, but you will not get an easier chop.
    Cheers

Way off topic for the HAMB, but my current project is a recreation of the 1988 Penske front row at Indy. This is the Danny Sullivan car.

Next one up though is a mid 50's Kurtis Kraft roadster.

Looks like the AMT annual kit of the '62 Pontiac Bonneville. The boxes back then were somewhat generic, with just a sticker on the end panels saying what car the box contained. Of course, that was better than just a couple years prior, when the car depicted by the kit was rubber stamped onto the end!

It never ceases to amaze me how many parts were stuffed into those small boxes!

    Steve,
It's like a knee-jerk reaction, every time I see these two I have to comment on just how good they are. Just superb!
What would the possibility be of you posting up some good side on pictures and some rear shot's? Or would that be giving the game away a bit early??;)

    Cheers mate,

    Doc.:D
