Sorry, that last post is a repeat. I've got to pay closer attention. I'll just blame it on being old. Anyway, it's all green to me now.

Tried a little wood on for a look. The maple still needs varnish.

I see this term all the time - what does it mean? Is there an 'electronic' subsciption, or does it simply mean 'I'm watching?'

    Thanks, Fox.

    Thanks you, Finnrodder.

    Thanks, pugman.
The color really comes out with the wood. The maple should turn a honey color with the varnish.

    Thanks, Azsnow.

Thanks, Boones. The stance is with the air out of the bags. It's down on the bump-stops in front. The rear will be a little lower as weight is added with tailgate, glass, upholstery, etc.

    Thanks, general.

    Thanks, Ed.
Thanks, lockwood. Get back on your wagon project.

Thanks, Cars. The wheels are steel. They will be a gold color (same for dash and garnish moldings) with 49/50 Ford hub caps.

Here's the wheel color. The plan is to use the same for dash and garnish moldings.

I am glad I ran across this thread! I have a stalled 51 Sedan project & have always liked the shoebox wagons.
Great job & great color choice!

I LOVE this car. '50 - '51 Ford and Merc woodies are one of my favorite all time cars, even in stock form. Owning one is on my "bucket list".

    Thanks, woodienut.

    Thanks, Fox.

    Thank you HOTRODPRIMER.
I've always been a sucker for the 2-dr wagons. I did a 56 Nomad about 30 years ago.

I also can't wait to see it finished.

    Thanks, Tim.

Well, get back on that shoebox project.

    Thanks, bonez.

    Thanks, 39 tow,

Dragged her home after paint. Then switched to varnish mode.

For the last few weeks it's been varnish, sand, varnish, sand, varnish, sand, repeat. I believe we're done with the mahogany insert panels and only need a final coat or two on some of the maple frames.
