we are going to make a major jump in our product line, moving into 61-66 ford pick up truck parts.

we have spent the summer getting all the sample trucks we need (see our post on junk yard tour)

and now starting to do production planning for new parts jan. 2012 with parts to be delivered in about 4-6 months

so we could use your input, tell us what you need and photos always help us understand the issue,

we are going to wait to do unibody specific parts and 65-66 specific will be stage 2

so chime in before its to late!

I vote door skins and tailgate patches. For both the stepside and the fullside. Actual fitting cab coerners, interior running board ( not all models ) cab mounts, ( front under floors, kickpanels

Step plates and rockers that run all the way back to to the end of the cab. On the Unibody. They are harder to fabricate because they are heavier gauge steel....

Ditto on the cab mounts and floor wells that fit. Especially for the Unibodys.

Front of the hoods always rust out.

Indeed. The core support on the 61-64 is different. The 65-66 core support is like hen's teeth in good shape. I was blessed with a very straight and rust free truck, so I didn't have to get one.

I *think* but I'm not sure that Dennis Carpenter makes one, but I can't remember.... but as most of their stuff, it is quite spendy.

You could also go ask at - http://www.slick60s.com/index.php

I'm sure the guys there would be happy to lend you their input.

  8. One which no one (to my knowledge) makes, is full size or full length bed floor panels for long bed 61-66 Ford regular Styleside pickups and Unibody pickups (which are different).
The majority of these trucks have severe rust issues in the beds.

Another vote for this. If they aren't rusted, they're beat all to hell. Styleside tailgates, too.

Make a hood...with a raised center section, think cowl induction.

good hoods are hard to find.

maybe a replacment bed floor would be good.

How about a stretched out rear styleside fender well. Helps with larger tires. A good 3-4" longer..

I think I have some decent front clip pics in my album from when we took my truck apart to paint, maybe you can find something here... I know I had several pics of the core support.. cause mine is damn near perfect.

    good question bill!!!!!

fact: the trucks we bought are in very good condition basically, almost 100% no rust, and only some small dents except for the bed area.

so i need photo's of the rust area's, i can make the patch fit the rust area's
( how high and long) also some large parts like radiator support maybe i can make a patch instead of the whole large parts for example.

and i do not that much history in trucks like i do 30's 40's 50's cars

so if i can see the damaged area i can understand what customers really need

this also applies to customizing parts also as we can make those if there is demand.

there have been a lot of good suggestions already but i do not always exactly understand the parts and the need

    i hope this helps

I would be interested in a patch panel for the front edge of the hood.

  27. Wierd. I have a hood with a good front and per the "slick '60's" guys it's worthless, it's out in the scrap pile. For as cheap as these trucks are, I would just go buy one that wasn't rotted before I spent the money to fix any rot on one.

  28. Here in New England, most slicks are rusted here................

Yes, large front fenders or patch panels for the large fenders. I'll try to get a better picture tomorrow.

Inner kick panels and and the cab section directly below them. Ditto on the front edge of the hood.
