I enjoy just the stock 62" 235 with my T-5. Has plenty of pulling power and good gas mileage for what I need. I made a SS intake/exhaust with dual carbs that works fine, 20 mpg. It's for Sale---

I went w/a 2.0 Focus Duratec, AL block, squirt & spark ECU, 2.3 intake, reworked a set of S.S. OBX headers. Good for ~ 170 hp and 32+ mpg on a <12k miles motor. Goes just fine.

    You rang?

I love 'em. I've been building six-powered HAMB friendly hot rods for five decades. Mostly Fords.

I don't have a picture of mine handy but I'm using a 4.0L Jeep 6 bored and stroked out to 4.5L. I will be using the fuel injection and such on it, nothing wild, just a good driver for my '37 Lafayette.

Howdy, you want low tech? I'm building a 1936 Pontiac coupe body I got at a small auction it the weeds. Put it on a 1996 Nissan pickup chassis (stretched 6") and added a '66 pontiac 230 ohc-6/2 speed. And oh yeah, right side drive...I'm looking for ideas on power mods (external) as the motor runs awesome. Good luck on your build.

Very cool thread, especially since I've been kicking around the idea of an inliner ever since talking to an older friend who use to race the six bangers.

I've also been thinking about a Buick straight 8 but can't think of how it would work and look right. That's twice as many cylinders lined up in front of the firewall as most interesting cars had stock. Might make for a very long nose model A that just never looks right.

I think an inline eight looks bitchin' in a big car, like a Hudson or '40s era GM sedan, but in a small roadster they have that "Pinoccio-like' distortion. Even inline sixes should be recessed into the firewall for proper weight distribution and good proportions on a little car.

One of my dream packages is a 300 six in an MG TD kit car body. It already has a long bonnet and with firewall modifications that torque monster would make a pretty sleeper.

Another is a '53 Stude. Again, it already has a long hood with an engine compartment that could handle a big six.

Also, multiple carbs on any inline engine just scream high performance to me.

    I know. That's the problem.
I will think of the right roadster look with the engine hanging out there for all the world to see some day though!

Working on a hybrid head for a chevy 250. Pair of LT1 heads cut down and welded together.

You need a long wheelbase and long body to balance out the engine. Think of an early race car, boat tail speedster or sports car style. Or even a long wheelbase Betty Boop cartoon millionaire's sedan.

This is my Ford Zetec, 4 cylinder, 2 liter, 4 valve, DOHC with Hilborn electronic fuel injection, header and 10 lb flywheel. Car is 28 rpu modified probably weights less than 1500 lbs. Runs great and I beat it like a rented mule.

I've always liked inlines, 300CID in '66 F100, 10:1 and cam. Mercruiser 224 in Model Y with B&M at 10# and Reed regrind and Holley analog EFI, and 2.5L Volvo headed Pinto in Bantam with M112 Eaton with 10 rib pulleyed for 30 PSI with electronic boost control using the Eaton bypass, Schneider regrinds and Powerjection. Crower and Diamond guts so I'm looking for 400 HP at 20#.

If I hadn't been taunted, into an 'E"-based build, Rex has the ticket here, good stuff, all put together right. The ECU was a good project to learn and does drive well after it's dialed in, in my '31.
