the 56 you see there is a chrysler (close enough heh) we've been goin over finishing primer, sanding it, wet sanding, getting ready for paint. hope to debut that baby in sacramento this year, along with a 64 im doing and afew other cars from the club. im assuming you guys will be at the autorama yes?
thanks! so, i think between getting the roof fully welded and the tail lights and extensions welded, ive got a little bit of work to hold me over for awhile. but the front end is the next big thing on the list. both the clip and sheetmetal...
thanks amigo. its a custom mix ive done. its going to be a very mild fade from a golden rootbeer to a sort of brandy wine. i think the colors i based it off of were newer toyota colors if i remember correctly. its pretty amazing what kinda colors the automakers are pushing out from the factories the last few years...
heres some spray outs i did... a little bit better picture so you can see the fade.. sure has come a long way since the day i found her like this..
got a whole day in on the 56 sunday. made some progress.... osha approved safety glasses all the way.. yum! gettin...somewhere? happy mugzy! it was a great day, the weather was nice, had some friends over helpin out. all in all had a blast. hope to finish them up by christmas, but we'll see. (and i quick peek at the greek mistique, waiting to be painted!!!!)
maybe I missed it, sorry if I did, but what color you gonna do on the greek mistique? great save and awesome work on them all!!!
Stick with the Packard lites. Those and the roof line totally make that car a keeper. When you finish it, I don't think there will be another like it. Don't think I recall an Olds as cool in the past either.
Yes , saving them is our duty & a great sense of satisfaction too. This is great to advance what some one had started into a full Kustom ,, very cool
Tail lights look tits, nothing better to look at than a nice pair if tits (or 56 Packard tail lights) Yea this one is a huge project but well worth it when done. Keep us posted on your progress.
Ok, I skipped from the first the page to the last page, then backed up a few pages. Holy Crapola!!! That's a seriously cool car. NICE WORK
hey thanks a lot! i do the same thing when i need motivation, to see what i started with and then looking at how far ive come, its a great feeling!
totally bitchin car dude! Great save and the unknown connection to the history of the car is awesome! you are doing great work and as any finish guy knows- as soon as you get in a hurry to finish it; Walk away. if you cut corners after all this work you will hate yourself for it. It is going to turn out awesome! what is your vision for the interior?
