I have a29 ford coupe that Im building with a flatty V8 in it. The car is sitting on a boxed/tube frame. I am trying to figure out how to run my wiring to my headlights with out it being seen or with it being seen and looking good and not like a mess? If any one could show me some pics of how they achieved this that would be great.

    Thanks
    Billy

Just an idea here.if you run the wires through brake line tubing under frame and than split it at the crossmember for the other side you can paint the tubing the same color as frame keep it out of sight that way.

Yea, my fiance's dad had an idea of running 1/2" conduit halfway under the fram to the front of the car. but not sure how that would look? Id rather the wire see than try to hide them and make it look bad?

    I like your Idea oldsman41

Nothing wrong with seeing the wire.. Using period wire and neatly run and tied they can look rather nice......

I built my 30 frame out of box tubing. I just drilled a half inch hole in the top of the frame rail right bellow the fuse block and fed the wires inside the frame. Then drilled a hole on the outside to run to the driver side and a hole on the inside to run the wire in some loom to the passenger. I used the speedway flexible head light conduit and used clear epoxy and stuck it over the wire and into the frame. I'll get you some pix if you want.

I like to see it, I used wire from a 49 Plymouth but I bought wire from Rhode Island wire for a bobber I built. Love the old cloth covered wire.

i had a friend machine me plates out of aluminum and counterbore them for rubber grommets ! we drilled 1 inch holes on the inside of my boxed frame allowing me to pull wiring through the frame ! heres a few pics , even made a bulkhead to run my tranny cooler lines in the frame , even ran gas line inside frame , used braided headlight conduit and ran right into side of frame rail with acess plate on other side !

i'll try to get some better pics next time i'm at my shop ! i'm very fussy and like everything to be hidden or come out exactly in its place! as far as the headlights like i say i drilled the conduit in the outside of the rail and had an 1 inch hole on the inside allowing me to put the lock nut on the conduit ! i had another set of holes under the cab allowing me to pull wire through the frame and have slack out to solder and shrink tube my connections , once done i pulled the slack back inside and have a small plate w 2 quarter 20 button heads that cover the acess hole , designed them to look like a mini lakes block off plate ! 2 holes are punched and threaded on the sides of the acess hole allowing the plate to be attached after wiring is done !

  13. Cover what you will see with asphalt loom. I got different sizes at Napa.

  14. For example. Not an 'A', but they are Model A headlights.
