Your HAMB inspiration of 2011

What car/post/picture/idea has really caught your eye this year on the HAMB and inspired you in some way? I know the HAMB has so much stuff shown here and it's a really hard choice. The builds that go on are insane and there is so many top quality cars that grace this place. Since being here i have learnt so much trawling old posts and seen so many things it's hard to pick out one.
However there is one car that just screams cool to me, a nod to the sort of cars i drive and person I am. I see it everytime when my screen saver kicks in and I like it for so many reasons. It's clean, sits great without being OTT and no doudt a car that gets used. I know Da Tinman has done the scallops, wheels etc and transformed his car himself which again means alot to me. Without masses of outlay he's nailed it and you know the owner just gets "It". By "It" i mean he knows whats cool and when to stop. His Stude speaks for itself. Homebuilt cars, small(ish) budgets, owned by an average guy will always be a winner for me because that who i am.
In a sea of Fords and Chevys the Stude stands out for me. Nothing against Fords or Chevys, i'd love one, just the Stude looks a nice alternative and although different isn't always good, in this case it is. A lot of thought has gone into it, simple mods and a very nice looking car to cruise about in. The type of car, if I lived in the US, i'd most probably drive if i could find a nice one.

What's given you inspiration then? A car, a tech feature that helped or just something you saw that made you really think? Not just something you like or want but something that actually motivated you in some way.

The Stude confirmed that folks are still getting "It" and cool cars don't have to cost the earth, it's all about style and the Stude has it by the bucket loads.

Da Tinman sorry again for the big-up but your a lucky guy and i love your car but you already know that! You didn't know this was coming but i hope your okay with it.

I didnt see it on the HAMB, BUT my insperation right now is my nephew Michael Titus. His first name is after me and the middle i like to think from the culture. I wanna be at the top of my game so he can look up at me and say, "Uncle Michael is one cool Mo Fo"

Not to leave else anyone out, but Ian Berky and 40StudeDude and their Caddy builds left me drooling all over the keyboard.
Which left me thinking, I may not be able to do that caliber of work, but I should at least try SOMETHING.

Farmer12's 41 plymouth coupe build. One reason is this,like my own, is his second build and a learning curve. The second reason being not only do they not offer a whole lot in repop parts for these prewar mopars he is building this in a part of the world where it costs a ton more to build and for that he gets a big thumbs up from me.

Not so much the builds and overwhelming talent, but the perseverance of all the HAMBers that faced disasters this past year,
TUCK, Breeder, all the guys near Joplin, the folks up here in the northeast, the list goes on too far this year!
Im not sure how Id handle devistation like they have, so indeed thats my inspiration!

X2! An inspirational stand up guy with awesome skills. He has inspired me and I'm sure many others out there. One great build thread in which everything is explained in depth. And like plmczy said, this guy is on the other side of the world! Thumbs up from me too!!

 

Evel's amazingly done up Cadillac engine, made me say to myself that I want a gem in the bay when I swap the 365ci-700R4 in there.
Hell, made want to go ahead with the whole ordeal actually, I was about to just go the 350/350 combo.

 

The "Let's Talk Cyclecars" and the "Look at what Falcon fenders can do!" threads.

I am interested in building a high-MPG car. This Sandford is the first 3-wheeler that I really like; I'm not much for open cars.

Other cars that really caught my interest are the 1955 Kurtis 500KK, the 1952
Astra, and a Darl'Mat.

 

This is my inspiration from 2011 looking into 2012. It's what I'm keeping in my mind when I tackle my '33....

What inspires me, is the people I meet because I am a member of the HAMB.

The guy who owns that '37 Chevy tail dragger not only can inspire but he makes me perspire!!

 

There's several that do it for me...but the top of the list would have to be the Weesner Inspired Hot Rod (Lit Up)

 

How do you choose from all the cool shit everyone has? Like them and inspired by them all. Props to all the hambers and their rides!!!!!!!

 

Not so much a particular jalopy, because as mentioned above, there is too much great stuff out there. For the over 60 crowd, I see lots of guys give up, so to me it's the inspiration of an idividual in later life that keeps the passion for this hobby. Guys like Hellraiser - he has been through alot but rolls with the punches and keeps that jalopy passion going!

Rikster's Watshon photo album post has been my favorite as has the Photoshop posts.

 

When I look at my pile of parts, I think of Hitch's build and I get inspired. Builds like his really motivate me and help me keep my eye on the prize.
