I just bought a Quicksilver shifter off of Craigslist and found a blacksmith that will make a custom shift lever for me. I am thinking of a 24" long arm with speed holes in the bottom and top and some twists in the center, then eventually I will have it chromed. Anyone else have cool shift levers in their rides?

The Quicksilver is a great for performance shifting. The one feature I don't like is the ball has to be pulled up on to get it into park or reverse. Here's mine in my OT Cam. I do like the base of it because it allows you to attach gauge cups to it. For a HAMB friendly vehicle I prefer Lokar because it doesn't look as muscle car era.

I dont think the Mods would like me to put a picture of my shifter on here...

  9. Heres mine, (first pic.) Lokar Nostalgia 23". Dashman here on the H.A.M.B. makes some pretty nice shifter handles, PM him and he'll do about anything for a good price. Here are some samples of what he can do, great guy to work with. Opps, I can't get his pics to load, but if you Google Dashman it'll take you to his website, he makes alot of cool shit.

  11. When my 1970 Plymouth GTX was stolen they took the shifter and the seats, so I had to put these funky Ford Granada seats in for a while. I used a hack saw handle for the shifter handle for a while, too! It was almost like a deformed pistol grip.

Yeah thats one reason I opted to go with this shifter, it was cheap, and it couldn't be knocked into reverse by my passenger as I have a bench seat in the truck. I am having a different shifter made for it, so it will look like it fits! The Lokars are nice, but at a savings of $200 I couldn't pass this thing up!

  13. Here is mine. Nutin' fancy but it fits the era of the truck real well.

  14. Going into my Henry J gasser. The first version of the B & M 60 Series
Shifter with the chrome box. It is the early version with the mounting
flanges built into the chrome cover and screened logo & pattern on the
cover. The later one had mounting brackets on the shifter mechanism
and eliminated the flanges, last version went to a plastic cover. Got
a cast repro grenade to use as a shifter knob.

Is that a Mopar Pistol Grip? I did some measuring today, and its only going to be about 14 inches, so not to goddy! I figure after it is chrome, it will match with my overall build. I saw a shifter in a sedan I loved at the Peterson Automotive meuseum, but I can't find the pic anywhere!
I cant get the pic of the car to show up for some reason, so here is the link.

  30. This is a 1938 or 1939 Zephyr transmission 3 speed and the actual shifter is original other than it was curved to the right instead of the left as they were originally this shape of design.
