You sure that's Dearborn? I'm certain I've seen that shot in Cars of the Sizzling '60s captioned as being in Illinois or Indiana. It was a FoMoCo promotion where they gave everyone in town a new Ford to try instead of their daily driver - turning the town into Ford Town, USA.

Hudson. Maybe 46 or 47. First car I remember riding in. They traded it in for a 49. I am a 42 model.

It's a Hudson Commodore. Hard to nail down the exact year from that shot, but mine is a '47 and has the same taillights, fender trim, bumpers, and bumperettes, so it's gotta be pretty close to that year. They are cool cars for sure. Very different from the rest.

Probably earned those tats in the service in WWII and if you called them "body art" he'd knock you on your ass.

Actually it is Flora, IL. in September 1960. Billed by Ford as the "Biggest Test Drive In History". Renamed Ford Town USA for a week as 1500 new Ford cars and trucks were loaned to the liscensed drivers of the town to test drive.

Man, I LOVE these old photos. Come to think of it, I have quite a few of my own old automotive pix. I'll have to round them up, and post some of them here.
