Man, great stuff! I like the diorama & the 59 El Camino.
That 41 Plymouth really looks nice. I want to see more, especially the front end treatment.
Lyle, are those first few models in your post Bill Stillwagon's work?

I added the beltline trim to my Merc. using .040" half round strip.

After it was glued on, I sanded some of the curvature off of the top of it & cut it at the door lines.

I also did some more work on my '50 Merc accessory steering wheel. It's still in bare plastic, but I wanted to see what it would look like, so I added BMF to the center & spokes, made a horn ring out of wire, & used a photo of the 1:1 center covered in epoxy for the center.

  8. Yes. The first few are from Bill Stillwagon.

Your work is truly inspiring Steveb! Unbelievable clean modifications and great taste!

I can show you the front end of the Plymouth some other Sunday, it has a ´49 Mercury grille surround and the frenched and tunneled headlights from the Revell Merc.

Hey bro I saw the inner fenders tonight in the garage. Just remember I only have one more Buddy L left.

  16. really nice looking (as well as the added trim on the Mercury). why wasn't it painted before detailing? won't it be harder now? assembly sequence is something i tend to struggle with!

    thanks

Thanks! When I peel off the BMF on the center, the epoxy will come off with it, & the horn ring is glued with water soluable glue. I was checking to see how everything looked, & now know what to do once it's all painted.

I'm digging the Merc side trim trick & the accessory steering wheel. Good stuff.

  22. Steveb, your work on that merc is just incredible. The small details will make it probably the finest, most accurate 49 merc model ever. What are you going to use for the power plant?

Wow! These models are amazing! It makes me want to go get one and build it, I have not worked on a model since I was a kid but I think its time to give it a try again. I LOVE all the customizing you guys do!!! SO COOL!

  26. Man, you all have amazing talent!

I mentioned on an earlier thread that I wanted to build a model of every car I've owned (something many of us planned I'm sure), but this one was done in reverse... I did this one as soon as the first 3window kit hit our stores as a guide to what my 1 to 1 deuce would look like.

I'd also like to once again apologize for the crummy pic (I like to blame the camera.. )
