any creative use for these aluminum water bottles?

got a few of these free from work, could prolly get a few more. Aluminum can, threaded insert. All i can think of is a radiator overflow. Or maybe i should just blast it, polish it , get it pinstriped and have the coolest water bottle around.

 

Need something familiar next to them so we can get the size of them.

Let's say you're on a long drive and you really need to pee, but you just don't want to stop.............Of course you would need to put a warning on them

thread a fitting in the bottom,a piece of hose and use them for rearend fill cans...polished and mounted up on the chassis with a nifty bracket they could be slick.
we ran something like that on quick changes and it helps keep them cool.

 

Aren't they stainless steel?

 

sorry about the measurements. about 2 5/8" diameter, 7" tall. holds 20oz of liquid. I think they are aluminum , judging by how light they are, but could be wrong. the threaded insert is prolly just anodized aluminum.

 

You could use them to hold drinking water in case you get thirsty.

 

By your statement and avatar, you have a fascination with peeing in containers. Lol

 

Just make sure you don't fill them full of boiling hot coffee and then grab them in the middle of the cylinder...use the 'insulated' plastic cap and clip to carry them...ask me how I know.

 

I've got something similar for my overflow. Mine was a canister of test gas that was tossed out. Pulled the valve and got a mineralac strap from the electrical supply house, then mounted it to my radiator support.

 

Cut the tops off and make some console cup holders.

 

Those look like SIGG Bottles. If you modify them for other uses, watch out for the protective coating inside.

If i had the i would throw them in my metal furnace and melt them down to make some car club plaques or aluminum parts or shift knob's

Reuse them as Water Bottles !

Or recycle them, They are not Car Parts..

 

Whiskey comes to mind. I prefer a silver flask but an aluminum water bottle would do me just fine.

I am making an overflow out of an old stainless "Thermos" one of those either painted or polished or bead blasted would work as well I suppose. I like my overflow to hold at east a quart and a gallon would be better for me but I suppose that is just overkill.

 

I still have a dozen empty aluminum Budweizer bottles stashed in the garage... I planned on using those for something... But I don't know what!..

 

Glass? The raven makes ale every year for christmas that he gives out for gifts. he would probably like them.

 

Cut'em in half polish and insert a gauge ...would make interesting gauge cups..

But I don't think my 2-5/8" Autometer gauges will fit those.. Damn it!

What's the I.D. of the bottles cut in half..if they are close you may be able to taper the opening a small amount.. Since they are aluminum, which is soft metal they should fudge a small amount before splitting..
Cut in half insert something like a old tapered center cap from a mag wheel or the metal top from a oxy acytlene bottle....tap gently until desired size is obtained...

 

I've seen a ton of people use these for coolant overflows.
