Interesting story, a good friend of mine found out over a year ago that he had a form of blood cancer with out getting into specifics his treatment include radiation and stem cell replacement. At the time he was the proud owner of a beautiful 51 Merc fully restored sedan (see photos) he asked me to sell it for him and I did with little effort because of the quality of the car. After fading way to a shadow of his former self and losing his hair and with a lot of support from friends, he got the good news that his cancer is in remission stage and he is returning to his former self.

We started talking cars again so I knew he was getting better, I talked him into looking for a custom so he can keep up when we go to car shows the Merc just could not cut it. I had my eye on a 51 Chev coupe built by Ron Box, his cars have appeared in various HAMB threads. Last Friday I picked it up with my truck and trailer. He just loves it and cant wait to drive it. Now I have to convert him over to become a HAMBER

Bob, It should look familiar, Mike said you passed on it??? My friend was not looking for a Merc just a very nice reliable car and this one fits the bill. Larry

50 Olds would have been the same as the Chevy.

Great news on the remission. I have my fingers crossed for our brother. The little Chevy is sweet, love it all around, I see the cool butterfly deluxe steering wheel in there, cool. We are sending healing vibes from South Omaha. ~sololobo~
