Classifieds question

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by glendale, Dec 8, 2011.

  1. O. K. Please tell me if I am crazy. A hamber listed some parts on this forum I sent him a message asking some questions. He responded and wasn't sure what item in particular I was talking about. And indicated it might have sold. And at the end said emails only. I didn't notice that (my fault). So I wrote back with part of his description. Trying to jog his memory. He sent me a message clearly pissed that i had pmd him again.
So my question is why would you list on this site and not allow me to send a pm? I get an email when I have a pm so that excuse is out. And now no way would I buy from him. I am a bit confused.

I don't know about the PM vs. email thing, but the question about "what part are you talking about" sure sounds familiar. I gotta laugh when I get a PM saying "still got that adapter?" or somesuch. When I haven't listed an adapter for over a year, and I listed a dozen at the same time. How in the world am I supposed to read the mind of the guy and know which one he's talking about?

Glendale, I'd say that it is because he is one of those who only comes on the HAMB to post items in the classifieds or check out the classifieds and doesn't log on to check the forum.
Go back and check his posts and I'd bet that 95% if not all of his posts are classifieds.

I always check the profile to see if the seller has e-mail. Easier to communicate rather than PM's. Especially if the listing is old, the seller may not check PM's daily.

  11. With all the F'd up things going on in the world ~This (a PM vs Email) is something the guy needs to get pissed about. Time for a reality check

  13. Yea and that is after I had to create a new membership because my old my old one expired!I found the hamb when I was 21 or so. .. And today is my 36 birthday. So I have seen a hamb that most will only talk about like it's a legend. It's all good i Don't care. And I just got a pm from the person in question telling me to f-off. Whatever. I guess i should be very scared because I didn't try too spend my money via email as opposed to the hamb...

You should tell him no, unless he emails you the request!

makes me wish I was still living up on Solero Ct...off Alum Creek Rd. I had a great time 1999-2000 when I lived there, had my 1948 Chev with me.....most of the mid-west guy like me, just don't get to have that much fun year round!!!
